My dad used to keep a drum stick (Premier 5B IIRC) in the car so he could hit me and my brother with it when we were pissing about in the back. To this day my brother prefers sitting behind the passenger - contrary to popular belief it's much harder to whack someone at that angle when driving. Also fond memories of listening to 'Real World Live' (I think) by Peter Gabriel on holiday in Norfolk. Truly made bass my favourite instrument.

I do. But then I always do. I love slap. Or tasty finger style with the occasional pop. Since using Elixirs though I don't get the 'new string feeling' because the strings last forever. They always sound brilliant.

The software we're using is a bit old now and the new version is out so there are no new security patches for this. We're replacing it soon with the new stuff. There's no threat these are just annoyances affecting a small number of members. It's not connected to the advertising and theses no security risk as all transactions are hosted on PayPal.

They're only designed for rubber strings so once you remove the bridge, add new tuners etc you'll probably find the neck can't take the tension etc.

It's changed, but you can still see your old one because it's stored in your computer memory. Clear your cache memory or do a hard page refresh and it'll appear as the new one. If you didn't understand any of that, google will explain how to do it if you say what browser and OS you're on Cheers

I'm thinking about having one made here, but to my own spec and shape. I'd have a built in GK3b pickup so I can use a polyphonic octaver among other things, plus a built in tuner and headphone amp.

[/quote] I've been playing with this and do find it adds a nice warmth and bloom to the notes. Really tasty and can be quite subtle. It kind of gives you that growl over the whole range which sounds lovely. Personally I have an octave, stereo chorus with separate depth/speed for the high and low frequencies (shallower and faster with less clean mix on the top end). I also use some reverb, and switch between room and hall settings depending on what I'm doing, though live I don't use any. I also like a delay, slapping back at me with 50% of the original volume, again in stereo. I also find it handy to have the high mids at my fingertips so I can adjust the gain and frequency centre on the fly, which opens out lots of sounds. Most of the time though it's clean, rear pickup, reverb.

Yeah very expensive. I'd like to try one though but only if I could stick a GK pickup in it and control synths with it I think the scale length might pose problems though.
