  1. ^^^^ price drop, in case you missed it
  2. ^^^ £1250 for a 1986 Fender Reissue Jazz with stacked pots and in a super rare finish. Has to be good value?
  3. £100 drop to £800 if collected from SW London
  4. £1250 collected now (another £100 price drop), to get this moved on since my love affair with Jazz basses is over. Would also post under normal circumstances but don't currently have a box large enough to fit the Fender hardcase in
  5. Yeah but the other'uns not surf green!
  6. Very cool and one day I will persuade Jack to sell me that beautiful Lull 😂
  7. I currently have a '71 Fender Mustang (covers all rock/blues/Americana territory), an ACG Recurve 32" (plays itself and has very flexible active preamp, great for recording) and a Takamine TB10 (archtop fretless bass, great DB substitute). Plus my 3/4 old German DB. I also have a 62RI Jazz and Gretch hollowbody bass that are - to be frank - surplus to requirements as the three (electric) basses mentioned above are all I realistically need
  8. Fraid the seller hasnt been on BC since January 24, so I guess he sold here or elsewhere
  9. I have recorded at Reservoir Studios with Chris Clarke (producer; also bassist for Danny and The Champions of the World and for bluegrass outfit Foghorn Leghorn). Chris plays DB so will be sympathetic to recording. Reservoir is near Finsbury Park so more NE London. If you contact him, please mention Clarky ex All The Queens Ravens recommended him https://www.reservoirstudios.co.uk/contact
  10. I think my major issue is that I am no longer comfortable with the Jazz body shape and weight PS in an effort to see if I can find a way to get more comfortable with this bass I swapped to D'Addario nickel rounds 45-105. Still not feeling right though after playing my Mustang. I can leave these strings on or swap for TI flats or D'Addario black nylon flats

    Mustangs!

My '71 in action last week
  12. Band renamed Beneath The Roses after universally bad feedback (The Chokeholds sounds a "bit rapey" being one such from a teen son of band member; another suggested that its emblematic of US police brutality). New website https://beneaththeroses.net/ Will fix Soundcloud asap
  13. My new band renamed to Beneath The Roses, as feedback on The Chokeholds was that it was too reminiscent of sexual violence and US police brutality. And that isn't good!

  14. First gig with my '71 Mustang reminded me of why I now much prefer short scale. So this beauty goes back up for sale, even if it takes some time. Incidentally, its now wearing Thomastik JF344 flats. £1350 collected
  15. OK, after further cogitation, I am not withdrawing this bass per se but I am in no particular hurry to sell as my cowpunk band may go 'more country' (TBD in next month or so) and as I am only willing to hand over (rather than post). So if you can meet me in London and are willing to come very close to my asking price let's talk. Otherwise I will hang on and see which direction my new band heads in the New Year!
  16. I have played this bass and it is indeed a beauty
  17. Clip from The Chokeholds debut

  18. VID-20191214-WA0002.mp4
  19. Back up for sale as the potential buyer didn't get on with the ergonomics. Unfortunately I am without box for posting at moment, so its collection only in London (preferably Hammersmith area)
  20. After the sh*t show of the last 24 hours, come and take your minds off politics at The Magic Garden in Battersea tonight. Onstage 9pm
  21. Thats lovely Lozz. Enjoy the bass and the new playing horizons it opens up
  22. I had them lying around when I bought the bass but am 99% sure they are regular long scale 760FL. From ball end to start of orange silk on E string is 37 inches as compared with between 33-34 inches on my La Bella Mustang 760 flatwound strings. Reason being the long tail piece of the Gretsch
  23. Thanks Ben! Someone please make me a near offer and preferably collect* as I don't really want to sell on eBay (where I have had an offer) * I am currently out of boxes large enough to post this as the Gretsch hard case is quite deep
  24. Here's 2nd track, its a rough mix as the beginning bass line is a bit truncated. Will be fixed with final mix. Our punked up take on Irish poem Auld Triangle (singer Billy from Dublin and gives it his best Irish burr on this one)
