1. Judging by my past record (ie: divorced by 31) you're probably right there :-p
2. Spot on, if you can't twiddle knobs & get results then why bother messing around buying extra gear and huge cost. Someone will always have something to say about not having a "nice" sound but It's not the end of the world as long as we all enjoy ourselves.
3. I've only JUST started to know what notes I'm playing other than open strings!. However, since being given a dep gig to do (30 plus songs in a week to learn) I've been forced to print out a neck note diagram & learn fast. It's actually amazing how quickly I've caught on for some who has point blank refused to conform past learning things br ear for the past 17 years. I got by simply on guess work & memorising things in the past. Mad really cos its much simpler to look at a sheet with idiots chords/notes on than having that scary blank moment on stage.
4.
Black bass, black jeans, black t-shirt. Thats how I can hide at the back
Ninja tactics! I prefer black but with a nice coloured scratchplate.
5. I hate the post gig feeling, high as a kite, usually having drunk several gallons of coke, can't sleep. And I'm usually at work early the next day, all bad bad combinations. Though at my last gig/drive home I managed to save two big fluffy samoyed dogs from impending doom on a busy road. I Took them to a 24hr vets & reunited them with their owners. Still couldn't bloody sleep when I got back though.
6.
So many dealings going back so many years that I hate to think! My first foray into having a Custom bass built was by Howard... (forgive the look, it was 20 years ago )
That fella behind you looks familiar......
7. I forgot to mention the "so how many strings has yours got again?" moments of hilarity!
8. They all know I play (its in my cv) My boss plays piano to her rabbits just for pleasure when she's drinking wine of a night time. She also can't comprehend how I can play an intrument & yet not read sheet music. Yesterday we were so quiet in the shop she set about teaching me "all cows eat grass." It will come in handy one day.
9.
I left my last band as i just didnt find it enjoyable anymore and to me thats what its all about.
Snap, I spent last year basically rehearsing for what transpired to be one gig & I also do about one or two gigs a year with an originals band. I've found I had more fun recently playing along to my mp3player with my head phones on at home to prepare for auditions than the bitching that goes on in bands. I do miss the getting out of the house aspect, but playing at home's good fun.
10. Lush, which glam band? There may be retro pics to be had.
11.
My 3 year old daughter got a Uke for christmas, from grand parents. When I get a bass out to practice she runs off and gets her uke, sits next to me and strums. It's cute, but I really wish she'd let me tune the bloody thing...
I bought mine one a year or two back, just to keep her pacified. she had the uke out last night & no - it wasn't in tune, don't know how many times I've tuned it then she "tweeks" it herself and ruins it. I know when I attended her school church service at christmas the last yeargroup had all learned to play white Christmas or silent night & "somewhere over the rainbow" It was, to be frank, awful, just awful! The only person hitting the right notes was the teacher! Don't.think any of the twenty plus ukes were in tune either.
12. I'm having enough heartache with bands/auditions myself at the minute. I guess she's going to have to deal with it eventually anyway. I'd be glad for her to be in a high school band though, I learned too late to join mine.
13. My child announces yesterday she wants her own little girls guitar like mammys I'm sooooo proud, except of course, its doubtful even a shortscale will be any good for her yet. But I'm looking forward to nearer Christmas when I shall investigate further. The gals got good taste!
14.
Nope, ones made from what I can only guess is some form of plastic. I feel them melting to me if I get above 10 Degrees celsius.
Polyester nylon mix?
15.
I own a pair of nike trousers which on occasion I have been known to wear. I justify them with the 'they're incredibly comfortable' argument, which in fairness they are incredibly comfy.
Is it the ones with the press stud fastening sides?
16. Pink Burberry Queen baseball cap + I watch jezza Kyle twice a week? Am I in?
17. There's even some bassists who don't have a clue what notes they are playing, they just memorise everything
18. Personally I hate it. :-o There I said it! Each to their own tho.

21. I dunno, don't you think it might be a bit stereotypical to buy a pink bass?
22. Would love to, however I've no musical work occurring at the mo, therefore its an unjustified spend.
