1. Im in Oxted, but the (potential) venue is on the A22 towards East Grinstead.
2. Dont think the problem will be so much getting the bands in, will be more getting the punters in to watch them. Not like the old days when the least drunk of the people you went out with drove home. There is a bus stop right outside, and station would be about a fiver by cab. Its right on a main A road so advertising shouldnt be a problem
3. We're slap bang in the middle of London and Brighton so I think there is probably quite a few bands within 40 minute drive.
4. Was speaking to a guy from another band yesterday who was saying there are no 'real' music venues in the area anymore, and the only gigs anyone seems to get are your general corner of the pub type stuff. We come up with an idea to maybe start a music scene, but not sure about the best way to go about it. There is a local social club, tons of parking, massive dance floor and loads of seating (would say you could comfortably get 300 people in there) which is only open 3 nights a week because they have virtually no members. I would say there are 5 local covers bands i know who would be willing to do a couple of gigs once a month as freebies to get things going, but what about original bands? Do they do freebies to showcase themselves? Obviously if it took off and became known as a music venue then there would be payment involved. What the plan would be is to do something maybe 2 nights a week, one of them as a jam night, and the other having an originals band followed by a covers band or vice versa. Suggestions? Feedback?
5. we do one song which is drop d on guitars, so only affects me when the other 2 tossers are trying to retune for the next song. I have suggested a couple of times we move it to the end of the first set rather than the song before it............
6. I think basses are meant to look used and abused
7. Most of the stuff we do is pretty old / popular stuff and for years now and whenever I hear a song it's usually the bass I listen to the most, so I know the chord changes / riffs etc in my head, then just sit down, work out the root notes and elaborate as required!

9. Go to a laser cutters and get one cut from some perforated sheet. Might even be able to do it from th existing grille
10. Just know the root notes inside out then if you get stuck, you can fall back on them! Good luck!
11. If its not doing anything else and you dont mind the pssibility of killing it, go for it! I would think it would need the bass right up nd everything else down to get a decent sound from it though
12. Ok, the ones in mine measure up at 2.4mm so that will be M2.5 I would say they are all pretty standard, so find someone with an old set of pegs, or even a trip to your local guitar shop. Failing that, try http://www.modelfixings.co.uk/miniature_cap_screws.htm This one is 20mm long
13. Ang on, i'll go look in the shed. Got an old set of pegs somewhere.....
14.
I use DR neon pink or green, the coating comes off where I thrash them with my pick but they never seem to die on me, the last 2 sets I've put on didn't sound any different new as the ones I'd taken off after 6 months
I've had the neons on for about 6 months now and they're still like new
15. Good work! Why is your youtube video recommending i "MEET CHINESE LADY" ?

17. I did think my missus was on there when i read the advice about getting a summerhouse with a wireless internet connection!
18. The PAT test only shows the bit of kit was ok when it was tested, doesn't mean it will be trouble free for 12 months. Therefore, not worth the sticker it's written on in all honesty.
19. Been playing for 20 years and hes spent 2 hrs trying to learn Brown Eyed Girl......
20. Beacause we can (well, some can anyway.............. I can't for shyte!)
21. I 'think' we have a 16 track desk which is being sold. Dont know much about it other than it having reverb and amp built in. Think it's only going because it's way too big for what we do. Let me fire off an email and get some specs for ya............. (feel free to pester me ........ [email protected] as i'll probably forget once i hit the post button!)
