1.
They aren't a band.
Agreed. They're 4 puppets who sing
2. Don't know your model but I've got the BXL3000 which i'm quite impressed with. Damn heavy though. Mainly use it for rehearsal and smaller gigs.
3. Just make sure you listen to what the others are doing though! Learning a song note for note off a cd is different that playing it with 3 others who have been doing it "their way" for however long!
4. Just heard So Lonely - The Police on the radio, quite funky
5.
Here you go. Don`t know how accurate it is. http://tabs.ultimate...titute_btab.htm Runs and ducks for cover for posting a bass tab
When you see it like that, you don't have to move your hand much
6. Keep it simple, don't try and be a flash c**t unless you're confident you can pull it off. Make sure you enjoy it and the rest of the band, if you don't then there's no point. And what everyone else has said.
7. Have you tried listening to one of the live versions?
8. Word up used to go down well in the first band i was in. Used to do it as a the Gunn version though
9. Jamiroquai, cameo - word up, play that funky music......
10. Ever tried a thumb pick?
11. When's the next one due? Sounds like fun!
12.
Arctic monkeys bet you look good on the dancefloor..great choon! Heading for sex on fire next...
Sof is probably my favorite song to play from all the dross we call a set
13. Ok, mine has 4. The small diameter 1 is bass boost, one seems to do volume, and the other 2 dont seem to make much difference!
14. As for surviving, stay away from black cabs and helicopters
15. Welcome from a fellow noob and muddler
16.
Is there a problem with the Ipad App ? I just paid for another six months and now can't the mag.
I just got a notifications of the new issue............ £6.99? Seems a bit on the steep side?
17. Probably quite a bit over budget @ £169, but http://www.andertons.co.uk/studio-mixers/pid13058/cid605/alesis-multimix-8-usb-20-mixer-with-effects.asp?utm_source=googlebase&utm_medium=pricecomp&utm_campaign=GoogleShopping You'll probably find (like i did) that once you have recorded a bass track, you'll want to do some vocals, then maybe someone on guitar etc etc............. and this is a damn good bit of kit for the money. Have used it at a couple of venues to get live recordings of the entire band and it's done the job well. Chuck it all through Sonarx1 to mix and master and you get a decent demo cd. Also good for those nights when you want to practice while sitting on the sofa with the headphones on while wifey is watching TOWIE or some crap.

Hi all

Stumbled across this place whilst searching for something (can't even remember what now, and it was only yesterday!) Looks like a mighty fine place with some proper clever people around. Been playing on and off for around 15 years now, but haven't done much in the last 6 or 7 years, kids and wives getting in the way! Just recently joined a local covers band, doing your standard run of the mill rock covers. We're all rather half arsed about it, so a gig a month and we're busy! Built myself a music shed at the end of the summer (wife wanted chickens, so the compromise for her chicken shed was me getting a 10ft square summer house), and got a nice little recording setup down there, with electric drumkit (midlife crisis impulse buy!) Looking forward to learning off you guys, and hopefully give some limited advice back! First question to start with............. what do all the knobs do on my Ibanez?! Only had it a few months and still not 100% sure what they all do........ Dan
19. Meet ya halfway, £85.............
20. Or chuck the calipers and get a micrometer. SPI calipers are awful, yet a £12 pair from woolworths (when they were still open!) have lasted in my workshop for about 5 years
21. £80 posted?
