1. Am I in a minority, or can any of you not do anything else whilst playing? What I mean is singing, talking etc? Even on the simplest of simple songs which I don't need to concentrate on, if someone asks me something it's either play the bassline, or stop to talk! The limit for me is shouting out chords to the rhythm guitarist who forgets with great regularity what's coming next!
2. Don't see why not, but i'd test the theory by saving some to the external drive and see if you can open and work with them from it before deleting the original
3. Usually do mid set stuff, and at the end if really have to. Just downloaded the djay app for the ipad, awesome bit of software!
4. Can try the asio driver, but think you'll still struggle. Other thing to do is make sure all windows notification sounds are off, aswell as disconnecting from the internet and shutting down any antivirus. These usually cause latency issues more than cracking and popping, but if he's after a 'free give it a try' fix then it wont hurt
5. Thats the problem. Get a decent soundcard and all will be fine. I had the same problems on my super quick recording pc to the point it won't even play back. Bought one of these http://www.alesis.com/multimix8usb20fx and all is perfect. There are much cheaper options around, but this one lets you record all 8 tracks as separate tracks via usb rather than just putting out a stereo mix of them
6. If it's onboard sound, don't even bother buggering around with buffering. Unless you have a decent dedicated soundcard or an external card / module then it's going to struggle.
7.
I've never had any friends who were impressed by bass playing.
Same here. Well, not my bass playing anyway!
8. I done 3 songs at mine with a band i used to play in
9. Another vote for the av40. The problem with them was the old av40's which have now been upgraded. Have a set in the shed and you wouldn't believe the sound on them for the money
10.
Sex on fire is still the most requested imo! Bored of it now......
Agreed. And if you read what the song is "supposed to be" about, not really a wedding song. Unless in Brighton.
11. There is a band called "the mp3's", have a look on their website, pretty concise function band setlist
12. Just had a rehearsal only to hear my trusty old dog of a rig was farting popping and cutting out. Traced it down to a floppy jack socket on the cab. Got a decent cable (from the guy on here who does the big fat homemade leads) and now need a decent jack socket. Fitting doesn't matter, if I have to cut a 9" hole in the back of it to fit it, then so be it! Any decent make ones out there which will withstand the beating it takes and the heavy cable hanging out the back of it? Cheers in advance
13. Various crap rolling around in it which is probably why it's so damn heavy. Have a separate bag for leads, but strap, strings, picks, clip on tuner, cheat book for when i forget stuff on stage, screwdriver, gas soldering iron kit, various set lists, pens, haribos and a tea towel
14. Want to find yourself someone that does laser cutting / water jetting
15. Oh, and............... pics plz!
16. Simple, the fit one. Bit of snatch always gets the punters in.
17. Yep, 10% with a max of £75. Main reason Gumtree is so popular!
18. I'd go for a compromise of doing all of them. All of them would fit in at the right gig
19.
In all fairness, I think we should be told which of your existing set list he doesn't want to do ... we might agree with him!
Agreed. And sometimes some fresh blood with different ideas is what's needed in a band
20. Whats your set list and who are your target audience? It may be that he has a point....... ?
21. Main difference between the G50 and G30 is build quality. G50 has a metal box, G30 is plastic. As for reliability / fuction I don't think there is much difference from what i've read Edit: here you go http://line6.com/relay/compare.html
22. Line 6 G-30 if that's your budget
23. And great for putting round plant pots to keep the slugs off your plants
