1. BB King, Cream, Blues Brothers, Albert King are the only ones springing to mind but suppose they're more blues rock
2. Learn your scales! Is it covers or original stuff?
3.
It's changed alright - it no longer displays properly!
Not surprised. There are more errors in the coding than our drummer makes on the 2nd set!
4. If its the gas 'kit' then stay away, theyre absolute crap (link wouldnt work on ipad) Edit: just seen its a leccy one. Probably just on a timer rather than thermostatically controlled
5.
Don't be silly , no-one will buy sausages for £5k a string....
Depends how long that string is
6. Try a set! No one can really tell you which strings you will get on with better, but heavier ones will help your symptoms
7. Depends how loud you want to practice. I got a little Marshall 20w (guitar) amp a few years back and use it for bass and guitar
8. personally, i'd get all your painting / laquering done before you even think about oiling anything. Oil and paint don't go together well, so keep it out the mix til you're happy with your paint finish. What is the oil for? Fretboard?
9. Is this what is known as a re-post?
10. On a side note / thread hijack sort of thing.......... Do you leave all the amp settings and the likes the same as for regular finger plucking or do you crank the gain or anything up?
11. I'm about to start tonight, so will let you know. That's if the internet is still around when i've mastered it.
12. I'm not expert, but generally paint doesn't go over oil very well
13. All i'd be worried about is the sound on stage. If you can hear it through the PA and the rest of them on stage can, then go for it.
14. No tab? No cd? That's me bolloxed unless you do a notation for dummies book too
15. Difficult to say. Probably easier to work out how many songs we got away with
16. Well, just thought it was a bit one sided so went the other way to throw a bit of confusion into the mix ;-)
17. Same here. 14 years, same amp, same cab, same bass, hundreds of gigs. Does it sound right / wrong? Dunno. Sounds like a deeper sound than the guitarist so that'll do. In tune? Dunno. Sounds alright, nothing really sticks out as bad. Year 15, behringer amp and new ibanez bass (mainly because the latest band we can rehearse virtually anywhere and lugging a 410 around gets awkward) gt6 on it's way, just because I fancy experimenting with some different noises and don't really understand the whole 'sound' concept. Probably end up chopping it all in and going back to the original shitbox rbx200 which had 20 previous uncareful owners.
18. It's not the equipment thats sh*t, it's you. Practice more, get better, and your gear wont count for sh*t. Maybe. As a view from the other side.
19. Drummers seem to be the worst, but also the best at holding it together when w***ered
20.
Some New Agers claim that tuning to A = 432 Hz is better for us than 440 Hz Of course they have dug up all sorts of ancient evidence to support their claim . There is loads about it on the 'net if you search for 432 hz tuning . Stuff like this ; http://www.omega432.com/music.html and http:// - Can't find a " shrugs shoulders " emotcion -
Some interesting points of view there lol

22.
I always felt sorry for the regular bass player on that Alanis track, how would we like Flea coming and stealing our thunder?! The original version is on the album at the end and the other bass player ain't too shabby anyway
Wasn't her brother the bassist on the other version? The one with flea and dave on was supposedly a remix version. They went to the studio and just had the vocal track and just jammed between them til they got there iirc
23. You got a microphone?
24. You could get hold of one of the Alesis I/o docks for about 150 quid, but im guessing you want to do it with just what you have? Dont think the ipad will be up to it, the built in mic is pretty rubbish. Whats the sound card on the pc like? Might get away with either taking a line out from the amp or bunging a mic in front of it
25. How about this for an idea then....... Instead of doing a mix where every track is already there, do vocals, drums, guitar etc and leave the bass off. Were all bass players and could get some intesting different bass lines. Everyone who can mix should be able to lay a bass track down too
