1. It really depends on the amp/speaker combination. A friend of mine has giged with his Trace Elliott 4x10 250 watt combo for 20 years and has no problems even at reasonably large bars/clubs.
2. Welcome
3. Both are good basses. Have you checked out the BB series Yamaha's?

6. Welcome (and good evening). There seems to be TBird fanclub here on basschat
7. My '79 sunburst 'Ray is a very lightweight alder. Basically, ash and alder can vary tremendously in weight and the ash models are often heavier on 'Rays. Here's a good site for finding out about the features introduced in different years: http://www.musicmanbass.org/PageEmail.htm

Hola

Hi and welcome
14. The problem with custome built basses is that thye do not hold their value as well as the mainstream production basses. I had a custome buld Iceni Zoot which cost me £1800 and I got £750 for it! £1000 would be a fair price all round - good luck with the sale

23. Welcome. Lots of good british makers, although the problem with ordering a 'special' you cannot try before you buy and what looks great on paper may not necessarily be great when completed - how many threads have there been on good and bad Fenders - the same model from the same year! I custom ordered twice - one a success and one a total failure and I doubt if I would do that again.
