1. I got a nice El Dorado strap
2. First Bass Owned: 1962 Fender Precision 'Go To' Bass: Warwick Thumb NT 'Your' Bass: 1962 Fender Precision
3. I reckon the short scale and pick up placement makes them very much an acquired taste soundwise. Although I note that 70's telecaster basses makes a good fist at producing a non defined woolley sound and they now seem to be going up in price
4. Give Paul Herman a call, he should be able to help
5. Looks like another visit to BD is on the cards
6. Sounds much better through the TC Cab, but I really hate the spitty tweaters that MB use. I'm loving my TC gear through my Bergantino's
7. Dunno myself. I do like Thunderbirds but this looks a little too pointy
8. Welcome aboard
9. Welcome aboard
10. Not my knid of thing, but no denying he's talented. If he raises the profile of bass players that can only be good IMHO
11.
DHL have a POD system. It is between them and the sender. (Just checked their web site). Chase the vendor.
+1 - let Thomann sort this
12. Bump
13. I've got an RC30 and I couldn't be happier with it's capability. I use it more for practising by layering tracks with the onboard drum samples and recording various guitar/bass parts. The onboard drum samples whilst not editable are good and I can generally get something suitable from the 8 programmed rhythms - the on board effects are good too. These, and the much longer recording time available are the main differences to the RC20. The quality of the recorded/layered sound is excellent and I doubt if I have scratched the surface of it's capability. However, even with the way I'm using the unit it's great fun andf the most used pedal I have and I can highly recommend it.
14. During the 90's Fender Japan put out photo finish options on most of their range - nice looking and if they sound/play nice what more would you want
15. Welcome aboard - where in SE London do you live?
16. Headless is the way to go for a Status
17. How about my..... http://basschat.co.uk/topic/163302-tc-electronic-classic-450/page__p__1480011__hl__classic__fromsearch__1#entry1480011
18.
How come it has only been played a handful of times despite being a new order?
Because my 'go to' gigging bass is my Thumb NT and my go to recording bass is my P Bass. As lovely a bass as the KB is, I just seem to gravitate toward my headed wooden jobbies
19. I love my Thumb NT 4 - it's my go to bass and highly recommended
20. Welcome aboard
21. Yep, and I asked them to order some TI Flats for me as they said they would be there in a week. After about six weeks I told them to forget it and went online. They were delivered in two days!
22. Think I will check this out as well
23. You need treatment
24.
Don't be afraid alanbass1, loving yours as much as dafonky's beat-up number, but, just out of curiousity.... ....can you explain this:
OK. The original owner was a friend of my father who purchased the bass back in '63. Apparently, there was a craze in the sixties of spinning guitar straps. The strap my father's friend bought fixed to the guitar/bass onto a harness that was attached using the strap buttons and two other fixing points that screwed into the body of the instrument, you will see the other mounting point close to the bottom horn. Not only did this require screwing directly into the wood but the other side effect was damage done to the instrument as it looped around and typically hit things as rotation was unpredictable due to the fact there was a lead plugged into it!!! My bass fared OK with just a slightly bent tuner making it very stiff to tune, which was replaced with a tuner from a 1960 P Bass (D string tuner), er - because the owner of the 1960 P Bass fitted new ones back in the early 70's...... - I still have the bent tuner and did have the harness although where it is now I have no idea after numerous house moves since acquiring the bass.
