Great description Rick. I never realised that the body of a '56 had the same shape/contouring as a '58 P Bass. Goes to show just how the scratchplate/control plate has an impact on design

The problem with measuring by SPL is that this would only be possible with combo's. You cannot do this with heads as the speaker as there are too many variables such as speaker sensitivity
