1. Great workmanship - when i took my Badcat amp apart was staggered by the workmanship - and the Matamp looks right up there with the best of them
2. There's a Berg AE112 for sale on the forum - great little cab
3. Kerry Green sounds great
4.
I wouldn't take the amp volume all the way up, that leaves the door open to an untimely accident. Experiment with the bass volume. Turn the amp down to a low level, bring the bass volume up until you hear the clipping. Back the bass volume off enough to eliminate the clipping, then bring the amp volume up to playing level.
+1
5. I almost got one of these when I started but ended up with a 60 watt Dan Armstrong instead
6. It's my '62 for me, the first bass I ever had and still my favourite. Had a few others through the years but this one has stayed with me thoughout - just a classic P Bass with that gut wrenching thump when played at volume
7. MK is to bass what Eddie Van Halen is to guitar. He came along and took a technique that a few players were using to a level way above anything heard at the time. Like others have said, this spawned a load of players who emulated and 'went faster', but too often losing the point in their quest for speed. A great player and the reason which I bought my MK bass.....but I'm really a old school Larry Graham type of player so I leave the MK safely in it's case!!!

12.
GB 5 rumour ? interestedin a trade ?
PM me with details
13. Well, I ordered this new back in '09 from Rob Green and, being an old traditionalist at heart it never gets played (and I mean I have played it about five times at home). As such there is not a mark on her. It seems such a pity that it's not getting played that I thought maybe I should put it on here to see whether there is any interest in a trade for something more traditional that I will take out and gig (for traditional think wood and headstock!). The full specs are: Kingbass Mk 1 Artist Green weave graphite 32" thru' neck with bendwell 16.5mm spacing Gold hardware Green side LEDs Handpicked bookmatched Walnut Top and Back (£300 upgrade) Mahogany Core Current price for this spec (as per the November price list) is £3,250, so this is the 'value' ball park I would be looking at for trades - i.e. another instrument with a new selling price of around £3k - currently I'm not looking to sell. Here's some pictures:
14. You don't see these too often
15.
The TC document does state that the RH450 puts out 236w RMS long term, which is how other amps are usually measured. Whether other manufacturers figures are accurate is another matter though.
Yep, and Bergantino quote that their speakers will take 300 watts continuous power and peaks over twice that figure....which is why I ask. Is the RH750 putting out 236 watts continuous power at both 4 ohm and 8 ohm, as their chart suggest?
16. Welcome aboard and merry christmas
17. Because of this thread I paid a quick visit to the TC Electronic website where they have a paper on how they rate their output: http://www.tcelectronic.com/media/tc-electronic-power-rating-and-active-power-management.pdf Trouble is that I'm more confused than ever when reading the table at the end of the paper. Is it actually saying that the RH750 delivers 236 RMS at 4ohms (the same as the RH450) and only 11 watts more at 8 ohms. Whereas the 'burst' ratings show the RH750 to deliver 450 watts at 4 ohm (which is significantly higher than the RH450 which is rated at 264 watts at 4 ohm in the burst rating column). What does this actually mean when driving speakers - should I take the RMS as the safe load for my Bergs (should I get excited and turn them all the way up ).
18. I don't insure, just ensure I keep an eye on my kit at gigs.
19. Good news in one way Clarky but, as you say, the taxman caused you sonme grief
20. The Clover Avenger 5 I had had wider than most string spacing at the nut, which meant a wide neck but comfortable to play:
