3. Dusty now has one of my Ricky Chris Squire's - really good guy to do business with. Thanks Les and get close to the edge with the Ric!
4.
Mmm..interesting. For a "custom shop" jazz with its corresponding price tag Id say for my money that one has..... issues? Firstly that low E looks way off the finger board edge and the pickguard looks nothing like an original. I remember when I tried my Road Worn there was a CS next to it and it honestly felt quite a bit heavier than the RW. I know I keep going on about the RW series but mine is an exceptional bass, and Ive tried a few over the years. StilI I can understand why the CS shops models appeal.
The low E is where I personally placed it using the grooves in the bridge saddle - yeah and the pick guard is nowhere like the old vintage stuff. But this is a great bass and no issues as far as I'm concerned. Obviously, you like your RW and it's a great thing that you have found the bass that suits you
5. I've got a Custom Shop Relic '64 Jazz Bass with the Brazilian Rosewood 'board. It's amongst the best 'new' bass I have ever played. I was thinking of offloading her but decided to withdraw it as I don't think I would get another as nice without going for a real pre CBS Jazz - now, if anyone has one they are looking to part with......... And a few pics to boot:

7. Welcome aboard and you should get a nice bass for a grand in the for sale section
8. So it does, I was stuck on the title!!!! Is there any pictures of the Pre CBS P Bass?
9. The picture in the post appears to be a 70's precision bass which is not pre CBS era. Is that the bass you are referring to?
10. Another very nice Smith
11. I'd go for the TC head
12. I really likethe RH450 and I use the onboard compressor sparingly. I also have Markbass gear but the RH is the one I gig with
13. Aye me matey
14. I have owned a Spector NS4 and NS5, and I own a Warwick Thumb NT. All three are great basses, the spector basses had slightly wider necks and the e.q. had more 'thimp' to it. However, I still own the Thumb which is my main gigging bass so I guess that says something

19. I know and it is. Also letting one of my Ricky Chris Squire's go as well (which is already taken before anyone asks!), as well as a couple of 6 stringers
20. Non original finish, CBS (just), changed pot, non original pick guard - well overpriced in my book and in the current market. All original it would be worth £3.5k or £4k form a dealer
21. I have tried 5 stringers on several occassions but always come back to 4 stringers
