1. Cheers 51m0n. If I decide to get a compressor, I know what ones to look at (& whom to ask if I see something different). Probably the reason I've never gotten a compressor pedal is because I'm going in blind & by the time I've fiddled with the knobs on any that I've tried out, it's too late & is either noisy or over compressed (although I do use a VST compressor on recordings as you can see exactly what you're doing with it). The only one I've tried that I liked was the EHX White Finger, but that was on it's own (No other fx involved) & the sound engineer set it up for me.

3. I agree with Ched, If you're not sure what you want, then a good multi FX unit is a great starting point & just pop some exlax in the guitarists cuppa (that'll make him crap himself).
4. A decent fretless bass (5 or 6 stringer), a BEF Pro with HH (to work in conjunction with the Moog LPF), a good chorus pedal (the CE-2 is a mates), something that can make good unison fx (like a pitch shifter) & another cab (maybe a PA sub or self build). & maybe even a couple of Moog pedals. But.... I've got a wedding in just over 2 months & then a house to redecotrate, so it could be some time before I get that list complete!
5. None? I've only tried a couple of compressors & the only one I liked was the EHX White Finger, but I didn't use it for Dubstep or with any other pedals. Wouldn't mind trying some again, but there's many other things higher up on my list.
6. I believe he now has the BEF Pro & HH, but didn't have it in time for these gigs (IIRC).
7.
That would be most appreciated. I'm sticked to OC-2 --> MF102--> and so on setup but just curious about his pedals. Cheers.
Hey D, here's what he uses... "the exact signal chain is: EBS Multicomp>Oc2>Smooth Beaver Fuzz>Line6 M9 (Q Filter>Delay with Mod>some Chorus (can't remember which one)."

Moog EP-2

DV24/7 & GAK are £37.49, but I suppose you'll have postage to add to that. I don't understand how they've went up so much in the past year or 2! They was less than £30 when I got mine.
9. Bassist is called Michal Gorecki, he's over on a Facebook page called Organic Bass Wobble. Don't know what his kit is, but I could ask him if you want?
10. I suppose it depends on the octaver & how cleanly you play, but I don't have any trouble with the Boss OC-3 keeping up with any riffs that I play (& many solo pieces too). EHX HOG or POG will give you a HUGE sound, but they're not cheap.
11. That Tech21 unit looks of interest. I'm another for octave down & fuzz. If you can split the signal after the octaver & put 1 channel through your fuzz & then filter the clean so it just sounds like sub then blend back together.
12.
I'll just stick a pillow up my jumper.
I think this could well be the Blues player's bass!

Bass to cab?

I dare say that 10 or so boost pedals in a row should do the job. Not sure how it would sound, but if you used good quality pedals, cables & power supplies, then it would be an interesting experiment.

Bass to cab?

Yes, but everyone would need to be very very quiet.

Blues?

I started off playing a lot of blues as a kid, but gave it up as I didn't want to end up fat.
16. Going by the curve on the back & how it fits to the contour of the body, I'd say it's made for the fatter bassist.
17. That's a good read. I need/want more FX!
18. I'd say pretty much the same as Letts did, or maybe octave, graphic, fuzz, chorus (usually OC before any other FX). But play around & find out what you like the sound of. Like Shep says, an enevelope filter is a useful thing for synth sounds.
19. Well as Brian's mum says, "That's disgusting!" (from Monty Python's Life of Brian)
20.
It's what you pay to Ent or Sir Paul. Perhaps Sting.
That's what I thought it was.
21. Or is it maybe Lefties are more skilled with the bass & therefore don't need pedals?
22. Ummm.... Is it because left handed people find it harder to balance on one foot & press things with the other?
23. Remember that a left handed one might be even rarer & dearer!
24. Oh, another option is the Source Audio BEF (or if funds stretch, the BEF Pro). You can add a hot hand (like an expression pedal turned into a ring for your finger) & do anything from funk to dubstep. Worth looking at too.

Chorus!

I'm using your shudder, in the form of a CE-2. Doesn't actually belong to me, but it is a good chorus.
