neck widths
Try a Fender Geddy Lee, the neck is very slim and easy to play, I haven't tried any other bass that has such a thin neck.
The Fender Jaguar bass necks are the same as the Geddy's. My MIM '01 Jazz necks are even slimmer than the Geddy's. I think they were like that till around '06.
2. There's also the VT Deluxr with 3 programmable channels
3. Anyone have a simple diagram for doing this? Maybe even adding an .01 to be able to just take the top off. So .01/.022/.047. Will I need a SPDT or DPDT? I'm guessing SPDT for 2 caps and DPDT for 3 caps?
4.
Just out of interest, what is the point of the covers? Everyone seems to take them off, it seems quite rare to see a jazz with both covers on unless its in a display case
Remember early instruments had exposed pickup bobbins ie Tele and SCPB so they protected the pickup. Also I don't think Leo thought pickups were necessarily attractive. They were a functional electronic component. So covers covered the ugly with pretty!

Volume pedal?

What amp and cab are you using?
6. Can I go out of my D.I , use a mic cable then into an low/high impedance adapter to my amp to allow a longer cable without loss? Just curious really.
7. If anyone's interested Dirnt uses "Fender Original Vintage". I have the article somewhere with the interview about his signature bass. He said he was skeptical when Fender sent him a prototype with that pickup but ended up loving it.
8. How much are the Ampeg ba110 or ba112 in the UK? Great tone and volume, and good resale value for when/if you want to upgrade.
9. How will these change from new to broken in sound wise?
10. Yes they are quite different, MIM's use cheap metal pole slugs with a cheap ceramic bar magnet across the bottom. Whereas the USA's (and other well made pups) use quality Alnico magnet poles. "Generally" speaking quality pups will have more natural warmer lows and mids with smoother (less metallic or clanky) high's.
11. I'll surprised if anyone chimes in with info on this, but I hope someone can, this interests me also.
12. Love: A great Gig! Hate: No gigs
13. Heres my Jag on Steroids! My Mods are: • BEAD Tuning • Fender CS '60s pickups • Concentric Vol/Tone & Balance Pots • Concentric Jazz style knobs • Nordstrand 2B preamp • CTS Pots & Switch's • Copper Shielding + Star grounding • Deluxe 5 bolt neck plate + Heel contour • Schaller strap locks • Hipshot Ultralite Tuners • Unbleached Bone Nut • Badass II Bridge • Rolled fretboard edges • Rotosound RS66LH strings • And finally used a ScotchBrite pad on the back of the neck to take the edge off the gloss
14. 7String, 20 quid for that thorough of a job is worth 3 times that at least, honestly it would bother my conscience to only pay someone 20 for that much time and effort. But if your just doing it cause you enjoy it thats cool.
15. Marine epoxy works really well and adds a bit of note definition IMHO
16. I believe they are Gibson brand, but not 100% positive
17. The very reason I went to BEAD tuning on me 4 stringers! Except my fretless which is standard EADG
18. That is a Beauty of a Beastie mate
19. This is the best stuff you can get, add the DeoxIT Gold for lasting protection http://www.stoneaudio.co.uk/
20. Are you plugging the cable from the amps DI into one of the mixers mic inputs or a line-in input?
21. You guys are really getting me thinking about this black pg thing
22. Ya if I got a chrome pg I would want it to be real chrome and not the mirror type, Ive also thought about diamond plate aluminium??
