1.
Boss ODB3 Great communication about postage. Great stuff. many thanks
cheers bud glad it got there safe enjoy! andy
2. morning bump before i head out for the day. as i said above all trades considered but would ideally like a swr 410 goliath or golight(i realise this is probs a bit unlikely tho) andy
3. nice looking bass man! only one thing i dnt like is the fender logo. sweet bass otherwise! andy
4.
More likely to be the amp..unless you have an active bass.... in which case I'd make sure it isn't the battery starting to fade. It sounds like the output stage on the amp is having problems so I'd get it down to a tech as soon as poss... as it could die at the wrong time. But you can try and help pinpoint which compoent by swapping out the cabs and seeing if the problem remains with different cabs.. so at least you can go to the tech and say it is definitely the amp.
+1 If you narrow it down, it will help the tech out and save u money. Andy
5.
Cheers Andy, could do that , but just less kit is good , as is less set up , if it was my own stuff supporting the idea I could get on with it but the old Pareto principle comes in , you spend 80% more effort for a 20% sound improvement , or something like that . Some might say sound is all , but a harmonious band atmosphere helps aswell !!
Indeed mate, no probs
6. could always get a small amp just for the kick? andy
7. ok how big is the triad? goliath 2/3 seem to get good press, no golight users at all? andy
8. why not just put it through the pa? but dnt connect two amps into your cab will end in tears andy
9.
Bang for buck...the Goliath ll is the best cab around...IMO. I sold mine fro £250...so I'd pay between £2-300 for one if I could carry it. I would also have a Goliath snr, 610 as a spare, so £350 for that, maybe, is what I'd pay
wicked advice man! well i dnt have the weight of my amp to deal with so wouldnt mind a heavy cab. and the headlites got a nice eq so can adjust it pretty well to sort boom. no golight owners out there? andy
10. so the sealed cabs have a tighter low end? makes sense with what marcus plays. the more im looking im thinking im gonna have to be silly lucky to get a golight cab doesnt seem to be many around at all! swr in general! andy
11. The 410 working pro's rms is 400w as im gonna pair my new headlite with the new cab, i dnt wanna be worrying about straining the cab. Its nothing against the cabs at all!
12. Im not to concerned about weight unless its silly! Although thats what interests me with the golight cabs, i had a brief look at the working pro cabs but they are to under powered to make them viable. What the main difference between the sealed marcus 410 and the standard 410? Andy
13. i think the filters are awesome on the mb heads, i pretty much add a little bass but everything else is flat(12'o'clock) then i kinda shape the sound a bit with the filters. ive only sold mine as i was violently hit by gas the other night and have got another head on the way. but i do love the sound of markbass, when i had my 610hlf it ruled! i still dnt see the need for an 800w version as i never had to push it! ever! its never been passed half! andy
14. hi guys! due to a late night gas session ive got a new amp on the way and im looking into grabbing a cab to go with it! im selling both my existing cabs and im thinking of hunting down a 410 swr cab, im guessing that a 410 golight cab is probs out of my reach! what do they normally go for? also does anyone have any views on these cabs? or have one near me that i can come and try once ive got my new amp. im hoping to get about 350/400 for my cabs does that seem a reasonable budget to be able to grab what im after? andy
15. Definatly worth checking the used section on here! Can grab a right bargin if you look around.
16.
If you think it sounds good, that's all that matters. If you don't know what the benefits of having a seperate head and cab are, you won't miss them either. The rumble is a decent amp, especially at that price. Enjoy it, then if you eventually think something's missing, you can look at alternatives.
+1 you will easily trade or sell that on here if you wanna upgrade later andy
17. i'd def get it to a tech man
18. they do look nice!
19. well this combo will hopefully be a longterm stop gap. i really wanna get a barefaced big baby! as in my bands im all about the lows hence why im going down the 215 route, was considering a dubster but its been a pain trying to save up and theres no way anyone is gonna trade my 2103x and lmt500 for one. but im really looking forward to trying out a nice 215 rig, even if it looks like its gonna take a while as no one seems to be interested in my stuff. andy
20. Yeh sounds about right just need on of these combos to come up for trade now! Oh and for them to want my amp! Andy
21. friday morning bump andy
