5.
And apparently later models had this aspect fixed as well?
oh thats not so bad. might have to go down the terror route if i sadly cant find a ad200b i know i can put less gainy valves in but how do they handle active basses? as my modulus is very hot if i use the aggie pre amp to boost? andy
6. As others have said you are going to be struggling for volume especally if you go for the 2500 as its only 180w at 8 ohms and your cab is 16! Also if the cab works on guitar doesnt mean it will be good for bass. Id look at getting a cheap 210. Andy
7. ok so i def want to go all valve now no more considering! fingers crossed i can find someone who wants to trade! the wait begins! and im sadly thinking it will be a while! andy
8. Bump Also interested in svt's i do know what im after is a long shot but i really wanna go back to having all valves
9. not a massive fan tbh! seems a bit light, i think it does need a second guitar but a bit more bass in the guitar might sort that. andy
10. love the cabs never really tried out there heads andy
11.
Thanks for the feedback guys, unfortunately I think the gear your selling is a little out of my price range, perhap the Hydrive cab isn't but my ashdown head it the full width one, the size of the 2x10 so I'd like something close to that size. The Harley Benton is looking good then, I do use some effects but its more to fill the sound then to go for it. Oh and I forgot to mention I also will be playing my EUB through it so looking for something that's no mellow but warm-ish. Spotted the GK mbe212, which is definitely interesting, very light; again anyone got/used one? http://www.thomann.d...2mbe_8_ohms.htm Cheers
those 212 mbes are nice cabs, tweeter is a bit rubbish but they are nice sounding, i think a few ppl had some probs but for the price there very good, it was only the sound of the hydrive speaker that made me get that instead over the mbe.
12. could always look at the harke hydrive 112, its very light and is swtichable between 4 and 8 ohms. not saying this just cos im trying to move mine they really are very good cabs. andy
13.
hey any chance of a trading a hartke hydrive 4x10 1000w for that swr head??
That would leave me with out a head so cant im afraid
14. Back to the top
15.
Thanks for your replies out of interest are the which cabs out of the neos and the RBH are better? i dont really have much experience with GK,
the neos will be lighter, but i would see if you could try them side by side and let your ears decide andy
16.
Well I assume so the guy in the shop must have set it correctly. It was already set up when I went in. It went quite loud just not the kind of loud I like it was very middy compared to the AD200, (the ad200 is a thumping good amp, first time id had a decent go) . With the TB500 there was not really any increase in percieved vol. Maybe its the digital power section. It just doesnt cut it with my playing style. I am going to give the Markbass TTE 500 see if that fairs any better. I guess I am used to valve power amps.
Not played a terror bass but doubt you'll get to sound exactly like the ad200 due to the lack of a tube power section
