1.
I had a 410, but I found it too tight and modern sounding for my own preference, but have to say it was extremely good at that type of sound.
as i play metal it fits really well andy
 2.
Interesting point there Bill. I saw a clip on youtube about The Darkness, and Dan Hawkins has an AC30 which he actually points backwards off stage as he says that way with the amp running at the tone he likes, the volume on stage from it is just about right, whereas if it faces outwards it is just too loud and deafens them all.
saw the same video! he has a cool guitar set up andy
 3.
Love my Hydrive 410 - just sounds 'right'.
i know what you mean! i play with a pick and it reacts really well to the attack, also with my headlite i use the onboard compression to get things even tighter. also love how the horns just work of a 3 way switch. basically as you can tell im a fan! andy
 4.
I have no probs with people using it at gigs. Simon
i know right! like i said i the post there 12's are awesome please make a 412!!! if not i might just get another 3 112's and stack em! andy
 5. just doing my norm thing in a music shop today, ie trying out stuff i dnt need and in now way can afford but ran an orange all valve thru the hartke! christ i really am sold on the hydrive speaker now that ive tried all of the sizes, the 115 is beauty the 112 is just awesome but the power in the 810 is just silly! 2000w rms! and it really does have a nice bark to it theres just enough bite and lots of lows! basically i want one! but that may have to wait, ie untill my band is playing arenas! hartke should really bring out a 212 or 412 hydrive i really think they would kill! would seriously go and try them out people! andy
 6.
No, it's because they can't get a proper mix throughout the venue when the guitars are so loud directly in front of their cabs that they drown out a 30,000 watt PA, while ten degrees to either side of that they can't be heard at all.
thats true but you can crank a guitar amp and not blow out a rooms sound ive went to a paul gilbert clinic he had to 100w marshalls cranked in a 100 seater assembly hall and you could hear everything just fine. i genuinely think its down to a sound eng and the artist working together. also for some guitarists eqing is a big problem how many times have you heard " i cant hear myself ? " so they just turn up and up and up! not meaning to be rude, i just think a nice marshall half stack rig is hard to beat. in the same way if i had the money and roadies id have an 810 next to a 412 as ive tried them together and they sound sweet! was silly load obviously! andy
 7.
Not even then. To a man the biggest complaint of the hundreds of FOH engineers I've worked with is guitar stacks. They all would rather the guitar'd players were using 1x12 or 2x12s. And this is the venue: http://www.meadowbrook.net/
surely this attitude is very similar to guitarist thinking that we should play a 115?
 8. got this for sale, my partner put it on ebay so ill advertise it thru here, as this was were i wanted to put it. any interest please p, or just bid away andy
 9. selling these as i just dnt need them anymore. they are both in very good nick and are very good tabs id like a 5'er for each postage will only be a few quid so say £7 posted andy
 10. looks like ill be shelling out for a b7k! :-( well not for like a yr as it'll take that long to save up!
 11.
...thanks guys, but the um err 1153....I'm guessing that is a 1x15"...so what does the 3 mean?
not a clue! but when i had mine it matched up pefectly in width with the 2103x so maybe something to do with the cab sizing? andy
 12.
Telling them to not buy Marshalls would be a good start. You can make amps that have volume knobs that function properly and sound good, rather than getting one that sounds rubbish and turning it up until it sounds good.
thats down to personal choice im a big fan of marshall's (good marshalls) most if not all guitar amps be they marshall engl, orange or mesa sound best when pushed. but also nowdays there are ways of getting round this, one of our guitarists have a small fender twin reverb and a line 6 pod very nice sound. but i realise this now going off topic andy
 13.
Fairly sure at a gig where my mate's band played, who have a clean baritone guitar and a distorted bass going on, that the sound engineer kept demanding the bass turn down until the notes were lost in the hiss of his pedals because he was assuming it was the 4x15 and 4x12 bass rig that was too loud, when it was actually the baritone guitar into a standard 4x12.
surely this just proves that the engineer doesnt have a clue? annoys me when i used to have my 610 and alot of pedals that when i asked if they could mic my cab they'd say no! i asked them again saying i used pedals and that i bought my cab for a reason, again they said no! a di i will be fine! also they then put there own before my amp which was even worse! hence i like have a rig loud enough to play small/medium venues without support. it does show the arrogance of some ppl that size means loud, yes sometimes it does but not all the time. andy
 14.
I think the hardest part of getting that good stage sound is trying to convince the guitarist that he doesn't need to be cranked to 11. Once he realises he doesn't have to drown out the snare & crash, then getting everything else to sound good on stage is a much easier job.
This is tho if your guitarist like mine has a full marshall stack they actually sound better when cranked! And shoot me for saying this they do sound awesome! Maybe just tell all guitarists to buy one of the things that allows them to crank but not be so loud is it a power break? The more annoying thing is when ppl dnt use the soundcheck well, ie the singer sings much quieter than norm the guitarist noodles around and doesnt check pedal levels etc and im the only one making adjustment for the room or stage? Andy
 15.
I try
Whats the blue pedal with four sw's ?
 16.
Lol ! It's true about the B3K/B7K. I have been through a horde of pedals and only the Darkglasses really did that tone. If you are trying to emulate it with other pedals it would have to involve a signal splitter/mixer, a dist pedal plus, probably, an EQ ..... so that would work out more pricy than a B3K.
this is true i used to used a ehx metal muff and an ls-2 but it would lose to much of the actual note in fuzz unless you dialed the distortion back, the b3/7k seem to be able to get super distorted yet theres always the note clarity. andy
 17.
It depends on the ma rating of those 7 pedals. Generally speaking, you can treat milliamps like amp wattage headroom, you want more than you need. I would want my power supply to not be running over half capacity, so say the Boss tuner can supply 200ma, and you have 7 pedals that total 170ma, you're going to probably start hearing some excess noise and perhaps some sag with regards to the actual effects. In your case, if you have 7 Boss pedals that add up to 90ma (Check Boss Area for the ratings), you're fine. Cheers Si
oh yeh im always supper carefull! currently im just using the tuner but like you say i make sure im well inside the ma rating. andy
 18. I think my tu3 can supply up to 7 boss pedals? Could be wrong but ive never used it for that as i have a diago power supply that can supply alot of pedals. Nice to know its there if i need it tho its like having a second power supply Andy
 19. dnt forget the 2103x 8ohms 2x10" and 2x5" tweeters awesome cab tho! andy
 20.
Yeah, if price is an issue then try the b3k it's the same drive circuit just without the EQ or DI
its the added eq that i kinda like the look of!! i feared this would be the response sadly, looks like i bbetter see if anyone wants a kidney!? andy
 21. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCp8vE1ZT0g love nolly's tone! also alot of bassists i like seems to be heading over to these but is there a cheaper pedal that can get close? ie while i save up the 340 odd quid for a new one!!! ive tried the boss odb-3 and that gives a more fuzz kinda sound, never tried an sansamp but as that seems to be more about going for an svt kinda sound which the b7k is not any suggestions? andy
 22. if something sound good is it wrong? i dnt know the math but all of that stuff kinda gets in the way for me and gets very confusing for a beginner. this is the only time i envy guitarists! they have 12" speakers and thats it! andy
 23.
No....
ok ill get my coat
 24. can i just stumble in and say that i use a 112 and a 115 together and they sound awesome! surely thats all that matters? andy
