1. ive thought about the terror bass, the fan noise isnt what puts me of its more the di, i know its a cheap fix but that bit is just something else to go wrong. not that they sound bad but id be missing the valves i think ( iknow ill get slated for saying that) thhe weight isnt really a problem as our guitarist has a all valve marshall and i help him out so he'd be cool to help me. and on the point of other valve amps i just dont know enough about the older amp to trust them, and after listening to some videos the traynor isnt the right kinda sound, i really like the want darker tones you can get with the ad200b. im really regreting selling my ad140b now! the stupid things you do in youth! andy
 2.
Could probably do better than the Orange for that sort of money going vintage, and serviced properly.
care to name a few? only other heads that ive seen are svt, vba 400 and the ashdowns. theres a nice one on here but not interested in trades and ive got no funds to offer. andy
 3.
I gigged an Ampeg SVT CL back in the day and loved it. In fact, I've spent most of my time since then trying to recreate that sound. I should have saved myself a shedload of grief and cash and just bought another SVT!
yeh svt's are nice but the ad is more what im after, more warm
 4.
I thought about this too, but just couldn't give up the convenience of SS... how about an SS power amp with your choice of valve amp emulation? Valve amp emulation is getting very good now, y'know... the B3's sigmoid curve clipper is a case in point... Mind you, with a real valve amp you do get the proper vibe... and the weight... and the worry... ...not trying to put you off or anything...
well i used to have an aguilar db750 which was awesome, dnt really care about the weight, and i never hear of orange amps having issues. i do have some interest in the terror bass but its the cleanish head room would give probs also the hot di, not that im implying that the ad has got loads of clean headroom. i know i could by a sansamp and a littlemark 2 and get a valve sound but i rem when i had my ad140b that it sounded so much more full an weighty. andy andy
 5. Its a crazy long shot as these heads are big and weighty but im thinking or trading in my headlite and 112 to grab a 2nd hand ad200b. its a long shot i know but im really gasing hard for the valve love again! i know the orange doesnt have a di but that easily sorted so im not to fussed. had an ad140b years ago and loved it, and im back in bands that the orange sound would really fit. what are the chance of me grabbing an ad for 650/700? i know theres other valve heads out there but they are a bit to much. and matamps are way out of my price range! andy
 6. any intrest in a trade? andy
 7. as my band is new, i dnt expect to get paid gigs straight away! so im willing to not get paid to get a gig at a good venue! we recently played at a 400 capacity place to hopefully get our foot in the door and it worked got booked to support a couple of bigger bands. im happy to play for nothing to get our name out and get a support group going! but we work hard to promote our gigs, as do the promoters. but that add is bad!! i think you just get a vibe from some ppl that they want you to do all the work!! some promoters also only work on numbers not quailty of the band. recently applied for a festival and they didnt want any links videos, songs all they wanted was a number of people we could bring?! WTF.....i realise numbers are important but if you advertive a night more than 1 pic on facebook the night before you can get a reasonable turn out. andy

 9. really nice amp would be tempted if i wasnt thinking of changing my 112 hartke cab for something?
 10.
Ha... Errrrrr... No!
Worth a try lol
 11.
Some recabling still to do and my custom Xerograph needs to sit in place of the Moog LPF when it's back, but aside from that this is what I'll be rocking for the months ahead... Close up right board... Close up left board... Other pics... Housed in a pair of Diago Showman boards - meaning it's the 1st set up I've had in over 18 months that I can carry on my own!! Win! Shep
nice looking board as always shep, but the grey stache looks out of place i think you best just send that to me! andy
 12.
Given how many pedals these days are cloned and copied I can forgive a company for being slightly circumspect about giving away details of how something new works.
exactly as we all know behringer will already be trying to make a copy. andy
 13.
Blimey! Good work! I'll check it out now! Thanks for searching!
no probs, the only problem is i getting the low rumblings of gas lol andy
 14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kNZxqYP3OJs found this one, he plays bass thru it at the end but doesnt show any settings sounds gd tho! andy
 15. any videos or demos of the sp? im gonna be looking for a small comp soon, anyone tried one of these on bass? andy
 16.
Hi folks, I'm thinking of possibly getting a 2nd amplifier to use when gigging in larger venues and want to know the easiest/best/most efficient way of doing so. My current rig consists of a TC Electronic Classic 450 into a 4 ohm Tecamp M212. I also have a Mesa Boogie Walkabout Scout 8 ohm 1 x 12 that is used for rehearsing and smaller gigs. Obviously with the Tecamp being 4 ohm, I can't run a second cab with the TC. What I would like to do, if viable, is to effectively run 2 rigs at a time - with one amp powering the Tec and another powering the Boogie. So my question is, how best to do so? According to the TC manual, I can run a second TC amp by plugging the effects loop out of one into the effects loop return of another. However, what is not clear (to me, at least) is if this will effectively treat the second amp as a slave power amp, meaning that I can only control the volume? i.e. I will have no control over the eq or compressor? Having full control over the second amp is desirable, but probably not essential - I just want to know what the facts are before deciding whether to pursue this idea or not. If I were to run a signal from the effects loop out of one amp into the instrument input of a second, would that work? i.e. would the signal be strong enough or of the correct impedance? (Does the signal impedance even matter???). After years of trying all variety of amps and cabs, the gear I currently have gives me the sound that I want so I really don't want to have to change any of it. What I have in mind would be to get a second Classic 450, or maybe an RH450, and use that to drive the little Boogie cab while the first amp powers the Tecamp. Your thoughts, advice, input, derision etc. on this much appreciated. Sid.
if you connected them like this you'd get the eq and compessor setting from the first amp i think. andy
 17.
This is my temporary board:
whats the boost chorus like? andy
 18. Gk do the mbe 212 which is a nice light weight 212, and is in the 300 pound mark new. For that size cab id get an 8 ohm version just so you can always expand on it. There wnt be a massive loss in volume between 4 and 8 ohms. First of do you like the sound of your 15? If so maybe add another 15? Personally i prefer to trust my ears so if a 210/212 and a 115 sound good then i forget the science. And just use them. Best thing to do is get out there and play thru some cabs.
 19. true yould be right before i had the 115 i did have a trace 1153 to beaf up the 12's sound. the 115 is a very nice cab indeed would like to grab another 112 i think and a cheapish power amp so i can have a stack of 12's with the 15. :-) and then later grab a 810/or a 412(i know hartke dnt make this) andy
 20.
I understand that they probably are a good bit better, however at the start of that clip they sounded muffled. But at the money they are asking I would prefer to get a secondhand really really good cab like vanderkley or bergantino. My overall preference would be a super12 but it is way out of my price range at the moment. Would either of the cabs sound muffled?
thats probs more the amp that the cab as you can see i use a swr head and its really sharp and clean, with a nice bit of bite much better than the video makes out andy
 21.
That's to reduce the floor footprint mainly
ok, still dnt really get how a stacked 210's out desperse a 610 or 810 tho but thats me i guess, go all jeremy clarkson bigger is obviously better andy
 22.
The Hartke Hydrive 112 is also one to consider. It has variable impedence as well - 8 ohm and 4 ohm. It gets good reviews.
this cab is unbelievably good! seriously worth the little bit extra as i know ill get slated for this but the lower range gk cabs didnt do it for me! the speaker is amazing too! and it 300w at either 4 or 8 ohms, rather than 200w i know this doesnt mean much but the hartke is a loud little cab andy
 23. nice well if you get the chance strongly recommend the hartke. also just to vouch for the fact they are well made! it flew from one end of my van to the other when i had to break suddenly! big bang cab is fine not even a scuff. andy
 24.
i know, but believe me the darkglass is the best i've heard. i'm still going to try that ODB mod though (although i'll be sending it to someone who knows wtf they're doing)
always best lol andy
