2. Hope they can get it sorted, it's be a shame to have yet another venue bite the dust.
3.
Much cheaper than the pad itself Alan is if you just buy the two Auralex foam strips and use the amp itself at the 'plywood board' that costs another £30 odd Boost them mids all the way, you know it makes sense
+1 You can get individual ones on this site. +1 on high quality ear plugs as well. Doc's Pro Plugs are good, Killnoise etc...
4. Where are you based abd will you post?
5.
sorry..... who's Matt Garrison? I take it hes good then
This chap?? Quite a CV. Has Whitney cleaned up enough to make more music?
6. I found the width of the neck at the nut to be too wide for me. I didn't have the facility on it that I have on my other basses. Still enjoyed it though
7. Hi Daz. Have you tied the string around the tuning machine and wrapped it around enough? Sounds as though it's slipping. I know it sounds quite obvious but just checking. Otherwise it might be a duff string.
8. nice going that and really nice tone as well.
9.
I've had a lot of pm's and some great offers but this is almost a done deal. If it doesn't happen I'll let you know. Thanks for the response. Peter
Be sure to let us know what 5'er you get
10.
I was planning on it being posted both ways and/or paying people for petrol, I'm not that tight about it! Haha ^_^ But no, there's no polystyrene corners left, just the half box. Shouldn't be too hard to rustle something up though.
If you're anywhere near Wakefield you can have my Compact box and corners...I'm keeping my Compact
11. I was hanging with my kids so not me
12. These really are great amps, and at this price a definite bargain. Not just for double bass, whatever that is plugged in sounds great. If your looking for light weight, loud and lovely then buy this Good luck with the sale.
13. I keep saying... "You gotta save up for these gigs!" Seriously, voluntarily working for little or no money is one thing, but if it's to be a paying gig, I want to know how much I'll get payed before agreeing to the gig. Hopefully you had fun and got some exposure if nothing else.
14.
Glad to hear it! It's only one negative experience with the Clarus and UL502 I was referring to so maybe I shouldn't write off those pairings just yet (I can't see why it would be a problem either, the impedance curve actually makes Class D amps run even more efficiently as they recycle the back EMF - unlike low power transformer coupled valve amps which run into an impedance matching problem which explains their fussiness). Alex
Interesting. This is good to hear as I plan on using a Compact with an AI Focus. Can't wait
15. You could get one of these to use with it
16.
2 months on a DB are you're doing gigs ? wow...good going !
No end like the deep end...
17.
I'd still have 2x10's and 1x15...
Luddite
18. That's great BB. Playing DB is one of the most rewarding things. As stated previously, it's quite physical but you get out what you put in. The fact that others are noticing your playing is a great compliment. Enjoy
19.
Bill doesn't like discussing his designs anywhere but on his own, tightly controlled website where nobody can ask embarrassing questions like, why exactly do you want to build a mid horn for your bass guitar?
Stevie, what are you talking about? Bill is an accomplished engineer who knows what he's talking about. Every time he offers advice all you can do is come up with a lame insult and usually no constructive advice or facts to support what you say. If you go to Bill's sight he and lots of other people with years of experience can help you. They don't generally hang out here becasue of people like Stevie who talk bollocks.
20.
Not usually too big a fan of sunburst, but that is just gorgeous!
+1. I thinks it's the rosewood board that makes it. Lovely bass
21. He sounded a great human being. It's great to see those that know him celebrate his life. The sort of person that wants a party instead of a funeral.
22. PM's replied On Hold - Sale pending
23. Bumpety. £150 inclusive of P&P ONO. Hardly used and a great piece of kit.
24. Nice one. Get some piccy's from your stage Enjoy
25. You can buy these now so you can make your own isolation platform for less than £20. The Auralex platforms use this as the base with just a carpet covered MDF or chip board covering. Worth the cost of trying but probably still more expensive than the squash/tennis ball solution.
