1.
Congrats on reaching 4 figures TPJ.
Ha, just noticed that. I really was +1-ing the ADA. I used to go my local music shop and play through theirs until they were tired of me.
2.
Wow! A blast from my past. You want 128 different EQ patches with a choice of SS or valve pre with 2 programmable effects loops? You have come to the right place. These are more fun than is good for you and also sound great.
+1
3. Hi, could you possibly measure the length as well as the length of the wrappings? I have an EUB with a very short tailpiece-to-bridge section and am wondering if these 1/2 scale strings would fit better so the wrapping doesn't go over the bridge.
4. I've tried quiet a few and stuck with the Full Circle. Also, a pedal tuner can work to buffer the piezo or if you're handy with a soldering iron, look at making the fdeck preamp.
5. Wow, sure you want to let that baby go?
6. Shirley is about 5 7/8 inches.
7. I'll check tonight. My preferences for DB neck profiles are the D shaped chunky ones as opposed to some that can be U or even V shaped.

11.
I also think that "ear memory" is important. In many respects I'm finding that developing that ear is the hardest part of learning double bass. Steve
That guy in the Rabbath vid above made an interesting point at about 3:19 ..."the intonation is evidence of a correct motion" What ever your discipline, if you refine your technique the intonation will be much easier.
12.
For me muscle memory is really important, the reason for doing all those boring scales & studies!
+1
13.
It's a shame they don't use 3/4" birch ply
why? It looks as if the cabs have been designed around strong internal bracing to reduce cab resonance and weight instead of using heavy ply.
...and that the crossover is a bit of a bodge. IMO of course.
again, why? This fearful stuff was run through the mill with testing and people experimenting will xovers. It looks as if they arrived at a pretty well suited and varied set of xovers to use.
14. I suppose any pickup would work, you'd need a headphone amp to carry around though. There are a number of good pickups out there for most budgets. If you go this route, it might be an idea to get some kind of mic to pick up the rest of the group/crowd so you can hear what is going on.
15.
Add your drivers of choice ...
Nope. You need to use the drivers explicitly stated or the cab would sound it's best. The fEarful cabs were designed around a specific set of drivers.
16. I use a Mesa Walkabout 12 for both, great flexible eq to dial in the DB and the plank. Have you seen the AI setup the Beedster is selling. Very very good price for that.
17. Sounds interesting. You may want to post some pictures of it mounted and in action. Good luck with the venture.
18. Does the East pre have full pickup blending in passive mode? I presume the passive tone works in both passive and active modes. I'm a recent convert to 32" and shorter due to an injury and I love the medium scales...long scale tone with short scale reach
19. Bought an Underwood DB pup from Chris. Great price and a smooth transaction as always. Thanks again bud.
20. I've always used corners or the floor. Having the bass free standing always makes me nervous, especially on gigs around clumsy non-DB players

22. Looks great. Playing DB is great fun. Enjoy
23. This is a really nice sounding bass and weighs almost nothing. Pete is fantastic to deal with too. Good luck with the sale.
