1.
In principle I'd be up for that but just googled and a curvey pointy thing costing £49 appeared. Eeek
I know, that's like charging £50 for a coat hanger. I took my bass out of it;s case this morning, I haven't played it for 3 weeks due to tennis elbow that has returned I forgot how long it takes to build strength and callouses and how quickly it all goes.
2. Good stuff Where did you have the work done?
3. Post curry burp.
4. Bump. Buy this bass whilst the weather is crap, you won't miss being outside as you will be filled with sunshine playing it.
5.
Can someone please build me one of these cabinets?!?! There seems to be a lack of builders of these cabs in the UK.
Doesn't mrtcat on here build them? He also does BFM cabs. Says so here
6. Bump Great bass, great price!!
7.
Really great basses for the price. ...you can't go wrong. Best of luck with the sale! P.s. £600 is a steal!
+1 Bump
8. pm's replied to.
9. I got this to try on an EUB but I don't think it suits the bass. Therefore, for sale for £90 ono posted. Will trade it for a Full Circle. Let me know if the pricing is right as I'm guessing a little
10. Thanks mate, hope you are well. I still have that Roland amp, it's been a workhorse Bump
11.
Ooh... you're just down the road... if the 15 is still here on payday, and I can source a cheap but decent driver for it...
Buy that Kappalite 15 in the "Other Stuff" section and put that in there...

How does the EB3 wiring differ from the SG wiring? One of these basses has been near the top of the todo list for a while
13. I noticed you have a Mesa WA combo. That's what I use for DB and it really does rather well.
14.
A simple high impedance buffer circuit is pretty easy to knock up.
There is a chap called fdeck on Talkbass that has designed one, he is a double bass player. It's this one.
15. PM me your details. I'll post them to you and if they are ok for you we'll settle on a price. It won't be much.
16. Sell the bass Chris and get a Chadwick Folding bass.
17. Hi Wayne, I did something very similar to a bronco. Consider replacing that pickup. I bought a £15 Artec hotrail off ebay for mine and it helped the tone immeasurably. There are also other pup alternatives that fit. That stock strat pup is rubbish. I also added a cheap £10 high bass bridge.
18. Bump for a nice bass
19.
Bump! Nobody here has a passive Fender, Lakland or anything else and wants to give it a Sadowsky active EQ for a measley £115????????????? I'm surprised fellow bass chatters!!!!!
These are great for active instruments as well. I used to swear by mine when used with a Stingray and and active 5 string jazz bass with an East preamp. Gives an extra "width" to the tone of any instrument, and as you say, great with passive basses too.
20. Hi Adrian, I have an old set of Evah Weichs but I played them for a year or so. Would these still be of use?
21.
Just a quick note to confirm that TPJ is a top chap, and very easy to do business with. Best of luck with the sale

Great Bass, nicely priced. GLWTS.
Thanks guys
I've always fancied one of these. What's the tone like?
You can get quite a bit out of these. Active set flat has more of a midrange bump than passive. The front pickup does a lovely woody P-bass-ish tone. The rear pickup with it's 3-way option gives you very good jazz bass tones, but I found the best tones for me were from blending the front and rear to varying degrees. I wouldn't call any of the active tone "vintage", it's more modern sounding, but the passive tones are very nice. The only thing that would make it even more great would be a passive tone control. The whole bass sounds very even across the range. Hope this helps.
