1.
I would think it'll be good,I have no problem with my 212 so can't see why a 112 would be. unless you know something about these
I don't know anything After reading Ed F's article on the F112 and how good it is for high volume DB, I'm interested in the alternatives. The BB2 is a contender. I'm also actually wondering about TKS too.
2. Thanks Muzz. It's more the high volume with double bass that has me intrigued.
3.
looking forward to trying out my Big Baby 2 once it arrives.
I'm looking forward to hearing how well it works with your Duke. Curious how well it will do high volume.
4. UPDATE: Sorry, this gig has been cancelled due to illness. See you at the next one We're back at the Hop tomorrow. Come and check us out, it's good fun.
5. There are a fine selection of Mesa amps right now, this combo being one of them
6. Have you considered Innovation Honeys? I know they make 1/2 scale strings and they are medium tension too, just a little darker sounding perhaps than the other strings you mentioned.
7.
Any trades?
Hi, no trades I'm afraid unless you have a Duke double bass or a Fearful F112.
8. Bump for this nice amp £700 ONO. Needs to go.
9. It's addictive, aint it
10. Yes, echoing the others, thanks for all your help, advice and wisdom Daf.
11. Nice bit of Rube Goldberg there Thomann sell these types of things too. I work in Shipley so if you want to compare double basses let me know and I'll drag mine to work one day
12. Hi mate, I hope you're well. Glad to hear you're playing more DB What's your budget for a DB? There are quite a few choices depending on what you have to spend.
13. What a DB should sound like. Watching him play comforts me in my less than orthodox technique.
14. How is the volume with these?

Nice blondie you have there
16. The Yamaha Motion MB basses are 32" and sound great.
17. What sort of strings are on there? Lower tension strings would help hand fatigue a bit, but the thing might still move around. Have you had any lessons from a good DB teacher/player? That may also help with how you position the bass when playing. I think there is a niche market for a Stagg stabiliser
18. Another possibility is getting 4/4 Spiro mittels for your 3/4 bass (assuming it's 3/4). If you research this you will find that you potentially get that full bodied mittel sound and volume with less tension, but more tension than weichs. Of course, every bass and player is different so your results might vary. Good lucj and let us know how you get on.
19. Nice one! What a great gift. Definitely look into getting some lessons and most of all, Enjoy
20. Fearless F112?
21. Is this every Thursday? Sods law that I'm going to the Hepworth tonight for a free jazz concert so can't come tonight.
22. +1 on the Rev. It was the best sounding pickup on my bass but was very sensitive to being knocked, temperature etc... If you have adjuster wheels, maybe give the Gage Lifeline a try. The Fullcircle as a great all rounder too. EDIT: The Lifeline is a Gage product, not Fishman. Sorry.
23.
I had a similar problem which was cured by moving the sound post. Tend to agree it's luthier time.
Me too. Sound post adjustment made a world of difference.
24. Nice find. Enjoy
