1. Well would you believe it! I've just been given this to learn for a band I will be working with. Fortunately I have been given a partial transcription, with main riffs in notation, and then 'FILL' for a bar, followed by sim. Basically I need to memorise key sections, and I can improvise beyond that, much as your man did on the original.
2. Can't argue with the description. The builder has used some oak - yes it's hardwood, but reputedly not a tonewood!
3. The bass part isn't hard but the lead guitar solo is a pig.
4.
... even my earliest fumblings brought me an incredible new kind of joy...
Let's just hope Discreet doesn't find this thread
5.
I recall reading that he covered the important bits up (wax or resin or something) so no-one could work out exactly how the amps were wired.

I heard a rumour (and nothing more) that someone took a peek under some of the covered circuitry and it was just a Tube Screamer providing the overdrive.
That's completely plausible, considering that a fair few Marshall valve heads have a solid state distortion circuit (think Boss DS1) in the front end, and their Yngwie Malmsteen signature head incorporates a DOD 250!
6. I love tremolo on a slow number. MmMmMmMm...
7. I play 99% fingerstyle now, but I have never snapped a bass string, not even when I only played with a pick. Also I have never broken an electric guitars string on a gig, and only once in a rehearsal.
8. Now just £105 delivered in the UK.
9. I rarely take a second bass to a gig but I always have spare strings. On a guitar gig I always take 2 guitars, partly because I like having the option of different-sounding instruments.
10. I use coated strings on acoustic guitar. They feel about half a guitar-string-gauge heavier than the number on the pack. I don't think you'd notice on a bass.
11. I used to lie on my back on the floor and get a girl to stand on my stomach, but that was before I started playing bass.
12. Your English is much better than my Polish!
13. I'm not sure I hold with going rig-less - that would be way less kit to GAS over!
14. I had a VM4 and it never sounded 'scooped' to me. The JM5 (or TM5) has a J pickup where the VM4 has a P, so that could have something to do with it.
15. I bought a guitar from Canada via eBay. The seller was a Canadian retailer, who arranged shipping at about £40. The final leg of the journey was by UPS (I think) and it arrived within a week of purchase. A month later I got a bill from them for import duty and handling - d'oh! I'm not certain, but I think eBay's international shipping service now means duties can be paid up-front, thus avoiding the handling fee at this end.
16. Not one for me, but top marks for a well-thought-out ad!
17. That rig looks amazing and no doubt sounds the biz, but no way would I trade my Demeter VTBPM800D against it!
18. For sound, convenience and space-saving, go for a U-bass. Acoustic bass guitars are huge, often a chore to play, and don't sound like much in a band context. I tried 2 Ashbury's and was not impressed - read about my U-bass shopping trip here. I ended up with a Kala, which so far has impressed all who see and hear it with its cuteness and massive sound!
19. Yup, mainly drive and EQ.

Nash

Bought a pedal from Nash, it arrived within 36 hours well-packed and in mint condition.
21.
Rotten band using gear set with rotten eq choices playing Sex On Fire/Dakota badly/out of time equals huge success in most places.
Plenty of bands haven't a clue where the '1' is in Sex On Fire
