JapanAxe Posted November 17, 2016 Share Posted November 17, 2016 (edited) I recently purchased a set of Ernie Ball Cobalt Flatwound strings for just over £40, the cheapest I could find them. They do exactly what they say on the tin, i.e. sound as bright as roundwounds, yet the feel is closer to that of flats (they feel similar to D'Addario half-rounds to me). I really wanted to try them, but I have concluded they are just not for me and I am going back to D'Addario Chromes. The strings have been cut to fit a standard 4-a-side Fender Precision or Jazz, and have had a small amount of home use only, so basically as new, although I didn't keep the packaging.
