1. Welcome Toby, I see you are rocking a fair few Ibanez, nice choice! As you might have seen there are threads for builds here and you could advertise in the bass players wanted thread. Whatever you do tell us about it, we're here to chat bass stuff. Cheers Leen.,

Welcome to Basschat Jon, This is the place for you, noobs or not (don't listen to Bert, I heard he invented the bass guitar!) Its all banter or bollox, Cheers Leen.

Howdy

Welcome Mr Simple, Better late then never eh, I've got 2 guitars here I can almost still see poking out of that pile of dust, unlike my bass rack sporting a glistening Ibanez SR1205. Metal is where its at my friend. Get out and join/form a band It's a world of difference to recording at home. Enjoy the site. Cheers Leen.
4. How about... Drums - Gavin Harrison (porcupine Tree) Bass - Me (Abandoned Stars) Keys - Jim Gilmour (Saga) Vox - Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth) Guitar - Guthrie Govan Oooohhhh........I just wet masel!!
5. We linked our reverbnation to Facebook and it worked fine, no dodgy adds anywhere. Watch as anything you add on reverbnation will post on Facebook. Also soundcloud is great for posting songs, its easy to set up. Good luck.
6. Welcome Barry, I'd love a set of Taurus pedals, I bought a MIDI set of bass pedals from a chap over the water and their ok but not a patch on the real things. Anyway, enjoy the site. Cheers Leen.
7.
So, I was thinking it's worth sending digital copies
A year ago we released our first EP, 1 thing we have learned is that most places on the web only want CD's, the bigger sites don't deal with download links. Annoying as it is, money talks! It costs to ensure a review/advert etc in the big mags (classic rock/prog etc) however, we found that you can haggle quite successfuly. Try and get on online radio, its easier than you might think and It may get you some fans. If you use CD baby to sell your stuff, they link in with Amazon and itunes automatically, We have a limit set of $50 until profits are paid to us, their cut is tiny, it's really artist friendly.
8. Hey Jazzy dude, Fear not, the 'off topic' thread is just for you, then you can talk keyboards all you like. Enjoy the site. Cheers Leen.
9. The guy in the picture wearing the basschat polo (in shop) has machine head covers Kermit etc etc These would be great, for me anyway. I can't locate them anywhere, the shop bit don't seem to sell them here despite having them in the pictures.
10. Hey Russ, welcome along. Before long you will have forgotten all about your £40 bass.......basschat has that affect on people, they call it gas......I myself have been affected! I only came here to ask about strings and have since bought 2 basses and an looking to get a whole new rig that I don't need! Cheers Leen.
11. Hello and welcome to Basschat Rob, Claptrap, I love the sound of that! I'm always amazed by the folk who come on here who list metal alongside pop and dance, I must be some kind of snob to stick to Prog, Maybe I'll try out a few one direction numbers with the band this week just to broaden.my horizons? Its all banter here dude.....enjoy the forum.
12. Welcome Lou, Pro's amateur's beginners.......everyones welcome here, I'm kind of in the middle, the same as where I am in life. What type of 80's stuff do you play? Cheers Leen.
13.
most important thing first: when Leen said "blue", he meant "blue Warwick" of course. Blue Warwick Thumb to be precise
Ok smart arse....what was the question then?
14. I have the same problem with my Warwick but only on one string. I've actually lost one of the screws and have not got round to replacing it. Apart from that I hardly ever have to tweak the action.
15.
It's 100% not from '79..
Yeah, I just read the wrong bit. I was going to ask what bass that was too.....cheers!
16. As much as I've heard of Victor I've never heard much of his stuff, I saw this today and was totally blown away....beautiful!. sorry, I'm an Idiot for thinking this was from '79 just read the wrong bit and thought it matched the bad quality. 19. I just bought 2 basses in the last few weeks so If I ask santa for more she'll probably wrap the last one round my heid!!
20.
Leen, what's wrong with us. We seem to be stalking each other!
!
21.
folk bands (eek!)
Welcome to basschat Steve, folk bands eh? despite being in a tech metal band i'm a bit partial to Fairport convention! eek indeed!

Hello

Hello and welcome to basschat, Jeez, you started early..bass at 10yrs??? what got you into bass at that age, it was all action man for me then This is the place to buy and sell gear but beware of the impending GAS!!! Cheers Leen
23. This does look like an excellent DVD. I saw Bryan with the Aristocracts a while ago and he was great (and funny) This will go on my Xmas list.
24. When I watched a video of my band recently i was surprised to see that when I moved It looked as if I was going to fall over every time! I didnt realise I froze up when gigging, I now pick my moments to move, open strings are a good time.
25. I started out on guitar back in 1986 and played and gigged in a band for about 3 years also recording in a studio for a demo, I also used a bass for the first time in the studio as our bass player left just before. I loved it and after meeting the guitarist of another band in a pub long after i should have gone home i agreed to play bass for him. I had to ring round to borrow an amp and a bass! I've never looked back but I still have the first guitar...a Kay strat £30 from Mentiplays in Kirkcaldy!!
