  1. Try playing a bit of Country and Western on that baby.....
  2. This was my first proper long scale bass back in the very early 70's....my Mother killed it by leaning it up against a radiator....had a neck like a long bow after that and totally unusable! This one looks in lovely condition though..
  3. I don't use the drive switch but I'm going to experiment with it. Thanks.
  4. It basically reduces the mids the more the contour control is wound on.
  5. Loved seeing these old vintage amps/combos. I first started out with a Dallas Arbiter Slider amp which was really hopeless for bass guitar! Fortunately l left school, got a good job and bought the heavy powerful stuff that would murder my back these days. Glwts mate.
  6. You're absolutely right, these amps sound so good without much tweaking. I usually set the bass and treble around 11 0'clock and have the contour set at around 7-8 o'clock...it simply hits the spot for me using a MM bass.
  7. Out of interest, what settings do you use and with what bass? Cheers Steve
  8. Brought back some fond memories of this little combo when l was with a Meatloaf tribute band using a Trace stack and playing with a loud drummer......kept up no problem and sounded really good too!
  9. I absolutely love mine, the R400 is the best amp l have ever played through. The new owner will not be disappointed.
  10. I'm afraid thats what happens when Snow White has sex with Dopey!
  11. This is a top quality bass, both in build quality and tone, it sounds phenomenal. Excellent condition apart from a tiny ding at the back of the strap button at the bottom of the bass. Can barely be seen up close. I have upgraded the bass with the following - Norstrand NP4a pickups/CTS pots/Switchcraft jack/WD Black 3 ply scratch plate/tug bar. Set up by the man himself...Mr Jon Shuker and is very easy to play all up the fretboard. Ernie Ball Super Slinky 45/60/80/100 strings fitted. Sorry I don't have the original parts as I really didn't intend selling this bass. Comes with the original fender gig bag in great condition. Absolutely any trial welcome. Sorry no trades thanks. New central heating boiler has forced the unfortunate sale. I really don't want to courier this bass due to no packaging/bad experience, so pick up preferred but would drive to meet up with petrol cost. Thanks for looking.
  12. Had a guy recently who bought my hifi speakers but didn't pay...I lost out on the 80% sellers charge and ended up selling to someone else and payed the full sellers charge. There are some proper tossers/chancers/idiots on ebay!!
  13. I had one back in the early 80's and can testify to that. But because of the delays and backlog, lm still waiting for the operation!
  14. Wife just caught me checking this out......she's wondering is the duvet cover for sale or where did you buy it from please?
  15. I'd need extra strong bike clips on my bell bottoms!
  16. The band are great especially the drummer who is top notch. I love listening to these so thanks for posting👍
  17. I used to have an American made pro 3 with the blue lettering for years and it was a great amp. For some reason some bassist found it underpowered but as long as you kicked in the eq section l never had a problem. As someone mentioned, the pre amp is really good. Is it worth having it repaired?....its worth having it looked at tbh.
  18. Such a shame mate, although l'm pretty good at repairing things till they're broke😕
  19. Quite right too......and most physio's/ osteopaths were driving around in porches and ferrari's!
