My fretless is much lower output. I'm keen to use it with my band but it's such a contrast to my main bass (MIJ P with Steve Harris pickups and strings) I don't want unnecessary messing about. I also have a jazz that I use occasionally but unlikely with the band at the moment. My current thinking is to keep it on the board on an "enhance" setting and use only with the fretless. I think also going from my trace rig at home to the rehearsal spaces SVT isn't helping me find the right consistency... Trace will be coming to more rehearsals from now on. And I will be world's strongest man 2017.

Hi everyone. I'm finding my formerly trusty boss limiter enhancer now a bit inedictable. It used to be easy, it was in my signal chain to get rid of the loud clunk from engaging my ehx pedals and also to help me even out the dynamics when changing from one bass to another. This worked successfully for some time but I'm now experiencing a weird effect, particularly with my fretless, which really needs the enhance function. Basically I get almost a delay from playing the note to then hearing a highly compressed sound out the amp with lots of the character gone. My amp has a variable compressor and I now have a Hartke VXL in my chain. Do I still need the limiter enhancer or do I just need to be more patient with finding the settings (and writing them down!!)

I have an MIJ 70s reissue P with Steve Harris signature pups and the matching signature flatwounds. It is truly a monster and I love it dearly.

Just picked up a Boss bass flanger, the old Brown version... Can't wait to get it on the board and through the trace rig!!

Hohner PJ Bass. Bought on a whim from eBay because it came with a hard case I sold for fifty quid... Think I paid eighty for the bass and case together. It was just nothing. No character in the tone, rubbish neck, low output pickups, just a complete nothing.

Delicious bass! Though not my style I'm afraid. I fell in love with a Sandberg at the bass show last year, you'll be getting great quality with that instrument!

Fudge me!!! If I'd spent that much on a bass and it has any defect ever I'd want a first class plane ticket to Germany to watch them repair it and being put up in one of those special hotels where there are lots of jacuzzis and scantily clad women walking about and.... You get the drift.

As long as everyone has a similar level of commitment its all fine with me... I make it clear to people: I'm not a pro quality player, I don't want to give up my job to try to "make it big", and if I am having a busy week at work and home that prevents me learning new songs properly then I say pretty quick

Hi everyone - my new band is throwing in some country style music. I love listening to it but I'm showing myself up a little. Root-fifth.. root-fifth... attempted fill... root-fifth... I can play most rock genres in my sleep but struggling to crack country. Granted, I don't practice enough - but I'm looking for some tips to get a bit more out of playing. My lead guitarist has played country bass but i think he just played it like lead guitar, and he's not great at explaining or showing what he wants me to do. So - any country players... what would be good songs to listen to and learn? How do i get away from root-fifth, fill, root-fifth and play something authentic and not "soften" the feel? Is playing the Tenessee three style rhythm possible on electric bass? thank you!

Hi, sorry it's a multi power supply with various outputs at 100ma and a few at larger currents. Got a replacement from the retailer and had same problem only this time didn't work at all off the power supply, worked off battery only at home and then in the rehearsal room did sweet f*** all again. Giving up on these off to buy one from a more reputable manufacturer when I have the pennies together...

Warmoth. Have a look, build what you want then adjust the price by trimming back on materials such as body wood, less exotic top, etc. Pay a professional to set it up if you like after you've done all the basic screwing together...

The retailer sent me a new one and guess what... Ok with batteries, no effect comes in when plugged in to the power supply. Incredibly annoying as I actually quite like it as an effect but won't use it enough to justify buying the Boss or other Bass Chorus pedal. I use a 9v 100ma multi-power supply which works fine with my Behringer tuner, Boss Limiter/ Enhancer and two EHX pedals.... Something's telling me trying to solve this will be more faff than its worth.
