1.
If you use a diasy chain is MIGHT short it. My old Mutron did this when I tried to use two batt clips. I think that it is because essentially you join up the grounds.
It's not joining up the grounds that's the problem. By connecting this way, you're linking the +ve and -ve together, which equals unhappy power supply. If you have one of the supplies that has isolated outputs you might be able to do this, provided the outputs are floating (ie. truly isolated with no connection to each other at all), but you must connect each connector to a separate output. I built Higgie a power converter for his Mu-tron to allow it to run on a single 9V (Boss style) input. We're currently working through some noise issues, but if this gets sorted then I may be in a position to start making these generally available. Andy
2. As the title says, this is a Peavey Microbass practice amp. It's the earlier version with the cloth grille rather than the metal. 20 watts, 8" speaker, surprisingly good sound for a small amp. There are a couple of (very) minor scuffs on it, but otherwise it's pretty much as it left the factory. Photos - I'm asking £40 for the amp. I will post to the UK at cost, or you can collect from Milton Keynes, or I'll even deliver within a reasonable distance. Thanks for looking Andy
3.
Now there's a question to ask.
Ahh, but you don't know what I know I built a 9V to +9/0/-9V adaptor to go in it, so it'll run off a standard Boss type supply. Andy
4. I use a BF-3, and it's pretty good. I use the guitar input, rather than the bass, because I prefer the sound. The tap tempo function is pretty cool too. Andy

If you want a mono crossover, you could do a lot worse than the Rolls SX21 http://www.smartsounddirect.com/content/Pr...oductID=SSD1137 Small, sounds good, and well built. Andy

A link to the seller would be useful... Andy
7. Try going over the heads of the UK guys, get in touch with Eminence in the US. That's what I had to do when I wanted to get some B102s (which they have now started to import) They were more than happy to stick 'em on the next shipment, and put my name on them. Bottom line is, they want the sales, so if Eminence UK are dragging their feet, bypass them. Andy
8. How's that Mu-tron working out then Higgie? Is it happy running off a 9V supply? Andy
9. I take it we're talking machine screw here, not wood screw? If you've got a small local hardware shop, they'll probably have a pitch gauge to check against, and almost certainly a wider range of screws than B&Q etc. Or you could look for a fastenings company in your area. Andy
10. If you're looking for a 5, you could do a lot worse than this Schecter http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=935 If you don't get on with it, you won't lose much (if any) money selling it on, and they're really well built instruments for the price. Andy
11. Avery make a laser-printable vinyl label, available in A4 sheets, in silver and white. Print everything in 'negative' and it looks a treat, especially the silver, really subtle looking. Not the toughest stuff around, tends to rub off if it's treated roughly, but clear sticky film over the top should protect it pretty well. Andy

+1. Certainly good value for money even though a few of the presets are a bit, well... crap I think describes it best. Once you get into playing around with the settings though, there's some really useful stuff on there, and the control pedal just doubles its usefulness. As long as you're not expecting it to sound like a high end processor, you won't be disappointed. Andy

14. Small mixer, power amp, pair of cabs on stands and a single monitor wedge. There's 3 vocal mics and an old knackered mic in the kick drum to give it a bit more definition. Just backline & acoustic drums otherwise, but there's only 3 of us and we only play pub size gigs, so plenty loud enough. Andy

16. Alien (noun) A shy and retiring creature, which likes to remain inconspicuous by standing on stages and making a lot of noise. Can often be found in a place known only as 'the shed', where he whiles away the hours turning piles of old junk into useful objects (or is that useful objects into piles of old junk? My memory's not what it was) Alien has been producing low frequency vibrations for about half his life, and for the most part doesn't seem to get much better at it. He can occasionally be seen fronting PsychoMojo, a three piece covers band, and depping for pretty much anyone who asks (because he's a bit of a tart that way.) Andy
17. Decided to take this opportunity to change my name and face on the board. The (piss) artist formerly known as aztec will henceforth and from this time be known as Alien Andy
