1. You could always go the online band name generator route. Here's a few links: http://www.elsewhere.org/bandname/ http://www.1728.com/bandname.htm http://www.blamepro.com/bang.htm http://b10m.swal.org/cgi-bin/bandname.cgi Andy
2. I take most of the lead vocals in my current band (3-piece, rock covers) with the guitarist singing lead on a few numbers. I find that my playing goes on autopilot while I sing, with fills and flash bits only occurring during solos and in breaks between singing. It doesn't make a huge difference to my playing as I'm not really a technical player (as anyone who's heard me will attest). Andy
3.
The lead series (head) is far more sought after though.
Especially the Master Volume model. Andy
4. When fitting T-nuts, my preferred method is to use a hex screw and a large washer. Using an appropriate sized hex key in a power drill/driver means it's pretty quick to do, and it clears out any crud in the T-nut thread while you're about it, so you can be sure the screw will go in during final assembly. Andy
5.
Years ago, I had an Alligator combo - something like 400w into 2x8's (made by Volt). It was remarkably good, fairly deep sound for a realatively small box, something like a GK micro combo but nicer. The fatal flaw was that it was "semi-flight" cased, so very heavy for the output.
If it's the one I tried, it had one of the maddest compressors ever - you could alter the attack so much that notes faded in like a violin effect at one extreme and sounded like a kick drum at the other. 7. They look like 3/4 tap washers to me... Pack of 100 And he's charging how much??? Money for old rope. Andy

9. I remember posting this back on Bassworld. 110dB/W/m just doesn't bear thinking about, especially with over 6kW handling - it equates to nearly 150dB. Here's a link to the same thing in English: http://www.royaldevice.com/custom.htm Andy
10. What's the cab? If it's got more than one driver in it then it could probably be rewired to 2 Ohms if need be. Andy
11. Do SKB racks have a hole about 9mm square? If so, we use this sort of thing at work, so i could err source some for you, along with screws and nylon cup washers. Andy
12.
+1. I had a TR-2 for a little while too, and agree with everything said here
You had mine didn't you? Andy
13. I had one for a while, but didn't use it enough to justify keeping it. Sounds good with a bass though - perfect for that Julee Cruze/Twin Peaks sound (I'm showing my age now...) No loss of low end that I could hear anyway. Andy
14. Great day out - meeting new people and putting faces to names. First the pics Trio of Arias courtesy of Bloodaxe - RAAAWWWWK! A selection of woody porn from Bass Direct Dood with OBBMs little pink thing in his hands (oooer!) The Vigier posse - Nick, Luke & Ped. Everyone loved the Attitude (oops) - one of the most played basses of the day A Warwick, a Celinder and a pair of Antoniotsais The mojo from this Jazz filled the room I'll post a few more when I've got them fit to look at! Highlights of the day for me were: Ari's MTD 5 string, Nik's Fender Roscoe Beck (only spotted as he was putting it away - Sorry Nik!), Luke's Epi 3x10 (I so have to stay away from things like this). Thanks to Ped and the guys for organising the Bash, and to everyone who came and made it a great day out. Andy
15. Car batteries don't last long in this sort of application, as they're designed for high current drain and long charge cycles. What you need are deep cycle batteries, as used in wheelchairs, golf buggies etc. They're designed to be run right down over a period of time, then recharged. A good deep cycle battery will discharge/recharge over 1000 times if cared for properly, whereas the best car batteries only survive a couple of hundred cycles when used like this. Andy
16. I've just bought myself a new amp (thanks Alan!) so I'm selling my Peavey Firebass Head. This is one of the original white face models from when they were made in the USA. The carpet's a bit scruffy in places and the corner protectors are a bit bashed up, but that's what they're for, right? 700 Watts @ 2 Ohms (and yes, it's quite happy to run down that low!), 475 Watts @ 4 Ohms, 275 Watts @ 8 Ohms. 3 band EQ with swept mid, plus Contour control. Built in crossover for biamping (external amp/powered cab needed). I've fitted a Speakon socket to this amp, as originally it only had a pair of jacks, and I'll chuck in a 1m Speakon Cable to go with it. This will pretty much be collection only as this amp is HEAVY! If anyone's interested, I can bring it along to the BC Bash in Northampton on the 30th. I'm after £175 or your best offer. Cheers Andy
17.
I'm interested in one or more of these. Have you tried them?
Blimey, this might turn into a full time job ! I've never dealt with CADAudio before, but they're quite well known in HiFi/HT circles. I don't reckon there will be any problems with their gear. PM me if you're interested, and we can discuss specs and prices. Andy
18. If you're serious then yes, I could do it. Let me get some definite prices and availability and I'll get back to you. Andy
19. How about one of these wrapped up in a metal box. Maybe something like this one in black anodised finish. Add a fused mains inlet and a speakon and you're there. Should be do-able for around £300. 500Watts in a 9x5x2 inch box with an all-up weight of not much more than 2 pounds. Andy
20. A bit more info would help - What sort of wattage are you after, what's your budget etc. There's a lot of stuff out there. Andy
21.
"The amplifier automatically senses and adjusts itself to local voltage.” nice
It's a rare switch-mode supply that doesn't these days - they're making a feature of something I'd expect to be there Andy
