  1. I have nothing to add to this thread except that years ago I saw The Hamsters supporting Dr Feelgood at the Cambridge Corn Exchange. They were so tight I thought there's no way Dr Feelgood can follow this. Then Dr Feelgood came on and blew them away.
  2. I have to listen to the vocals to get my cue but I quite often forget to.
  3. Chord substitutions. I just don't get the concept, either the how or the why.
  4. It sounds to me like there is an extra beat at the end of the chorus so when the main riff comes back in it seems like it's coming in on the second beat of the bar instead of beat one.
  5. 6 Music is my music station of choice when I'm in the car. I find it a good way to discover new music.
  6. I keep watching this over and over again, so funny.
  7. I bought this because I was a fan of Gilbert Shelton who drew the cover. It was also one of a few attempts to try and like the Grateful Dead but I've never succeeded.
  8. I started playing along to two or three songs from our setlist most evenings but since the autumn I've lost my enthusiasm and haven't even picked up a bass for the last two months. Once there are some confirmed gigs in the diary I'll start going through the setlist again.
  9. Had my first gig since March this bank holiday Sunday too. Pub was well set up for social distancing and everyone was taking notice of it. Felt great to be playing in front of people again and it looks like it wasn't as cold as Silvias gig. I have no idea when I'll be gigging next.
  10. Sounds to me like it's alternating between one bar of C and one bar of F . And at 0:43 it goes from Bb to Eb for a couple bars
  11. Not many people know that when Fred Astaire visited Tyneside during his 1930s UK tour he sung " Hebburn, I'm in Hebburn "
  12. However, I do think that Hawkwind exaggerated the capabilities of their silver machine somewhat.
  13. Some more Manu Dibango, one of my favourite tunes ever
  14. Love Hurts - The Everly Brothers Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris
  15. Thats why I'm surprised, I was expecting to feel like you are. This is the first time in around ten years I've not been gigging 2-3 times a month, maybe I needed a break anyway.
  16. Optimistic me says I'll be gigging again in September. Pessimistic me thinks it will be next year. What has surprised me is how little I've missed it.
  17. 39 gigs for me split between two bands. 25 booked for this year with more to come hopefully.
  18. My gig was in a nice pub in Harpenden, this was our fourth New Years Eve there. Played three sets, 9.30-10.30, 10.45-11.45 and 12.15-1.00. A bit of dancing in the first set, lots of people up and dancing in the second set then in the third set it all went a bit mental ( in a good way ). All in all a fun night.
  19. Neither has the other band I play in, much to their annoyance.
