  1. Likey lots! 😎
  2. Young Blood - The Coasters
  3. Can't be the only person wondering if this is pickup only or 'postable?' Ta.
  4. I had no idea you spoke fluent Nilo. I'll send him your address. Hannibal reading a book on how to play a low brass instrument will keep him foaming for months. Later ... ...
  5. In case Nilo asks, do you like the bass then? đŸĻ„
  6. @Newfoundfreedom i have two and I'd say the neck radius is flatter than some basses, but not detrimental in the least IMHO. The neck depth is fairly shallow and I find it comfortable to play. Some folk complain that the G string can fall off the fretboard, and it is fairly tight to the edge but I've found that wearing the bass just a little higher than I would a Fender Jazz V fixes that 'problem'. I'd certainly make an effort to dig one out near you, or nextvtime you are in an area where one is available. Good luck with your search and your final choice. Snorkie
  7. Yep, gigged one of those for years and years and it was wonderful. I sold it to buy a Trace - bad move looking back. ☚ī¸
  8. Good morning to you. I had a Sinsonido once - great lightweight, no-fuss bass. 👍
  9. Strange Fruit -Billie Holiday
  10. If your daughter completes a degree in music, she could teach the next generation, either in schools or in Further Education. If she completes a higher degree, she could teach/research/write from the position of a university lecturer. I'd say go for it - you cannot predict which doors might open in the future. Best of luck to her, whatever her final choice.
  11. Bottle of red wine -Eric Clapton
  12. Some tremendous ideas here. Shows the importance of music to many.
  13. Give me all your basses. Give me all your basses. Do it now. Do it now. 🤭
  14. Sorry to have caused you consternation over this one @Velarian. Book a double service and play the lot. 😁
  15. Wherever I lay my Hat (that's my home) - Paul Young
  16. Unfortunately, been at a few funerals in the last months. Noticed the way that music is used while the mourners assemble in the crematorium, during a middle section of the service where people are asked to reflect on the departed, and when they file out at the end. I've heard everything from Abba to Bob Dylan; classical to Sinatra; Clive Dunn to Bachman Turner Overdrive, and wondered what three pieces I'd pick for my own final gig. TBH, I still haven't been able to decide as there's just so much out there, but I wondered if anyone had already made their mind up and why they chose their tracks? I suppose it partly depends on what tone, type, style and impact you want your funeral to make. Current thoughts are: arrival - Sweet Dreams by Roy Buchanan; reflection -Stranger on the Shore by Acker Bilk; file-out - Find the Cost of Freedom by Crosby, Stills and Nash.
  17. Dr Heckyll and Mr Jive - Men at Work
  18. Stop! In the Name of Love - The Supremes
  19. Don't think twice - it's alright. 👍
  20. True, but the OP did mention The Dubliners - also not British. 😊
  21. I have one and I think it's analogue.
  22. This ^ 😉
