  1. '59 Precision for me please. One in Andy Baxter's at the moment, but waaaaay out of my price-range. I'll have to settle for a Fender CS '59 pretender.
  2. Happy birthday tomorrow. Big 4 O 👀👍
  3. The Teacher -Jethro Tull
  4. 1975 and have never really stopped. Gigging within five months. Go for a gig as soon as you can, it'll teach you more about playing than any number or rehearsals. Remember to let the bar-owner or whomever, know that the gig will be a first and not to expect slick professionalism (unless you're already there?). Good luck.
  5. If he's gone away, I'll take it up then: I currently have four T-birds - Gold Anniversary, 2015 with EB pickups, non-reverse Pelham Blue and 1999 Tobaccoburst. I have had another three Gibbos including a Custom Shop sunburst, an early '90's tobaccoburst and a '66 non-reverse. Also owned two Epiphones (neither wonderful IMO) including the current '60's reissue. Decent 3' strap with suede backing meant no headstock dive and all sounded wonderful through an Eden stack. T-birds are fairly light and in over 45 year of gigging them, I've never had a headstock break on me. I've heard all sorts of horror stories over the decades, with plenty reasons why T-birds (and other Gibsons) are crap, but I have to say, that I love them and will never be without one in my collection. As @Frank Blank would, no doubt, say, "That is all".
  6. Hit the FlapJack - Ray Charles
  7. For me, it's the EBS chorus every time.
  8. Yes indeed - very lovely. This won't last long.
  9. Good for you - that's one serious achievement and one to be very proud of. Hang in there bud. 👍
  10. Triad - David Crosby
  11. Ooooooooh! A Metro on top of a 1x18 should = bass utopia. 👀👍
  12. I'm in the first category .
  13. Both parents sang and recorded singles for limited release to friends and family. My father sang in pubs, clubs, etc. I remember that there was always music going on in my house as a child. Still remember whole songs sang by them, although I'm talking sixty-plus years ago. That's probably why I describe myself as a singer who plays bass, rather than a bassist who sings.
  14. Jig a jig - East of Eden
  15. As long as I'm playing the bass, I know I have a major tube as the first stage of my signal chain. 😉
  16. Call the Fire Brigade - The Move
  17. Eclectic Ladyland - Himmy Brianrix. Excellent album.
  18. One Way Street -Aerosmith
  19. Yep, started on a Ripper over 46 years ago and still play it regularly. GLWTS
  20. My Bucket's Got a Hole in it - Hank Williams
  21. Niiiiiiiiiiiiice!
  22. Belated, but warm welcome buddy.
