That Tele looks incredible. I must get a tele as I don't think I've got one anywhere (I might have but that shouldn't stop me should it)

If you buy new in the EU, you will pay the vat of the selling country and nothing else. No import duty or uk VAT until 31st dec, then who knows

I have to laugh at all this nonsense. Some people can hear the difference and some people can't. I would love to be able to NOT hear the difference, it would make life easier. Applying too much science to it is also a bit pointless. Everyone should gig a Steinberger bass, just once. Once is all you need to know that, the material an electric instrument is made of, does indeed make a massive difference to the tone. Those of us that have had a Steinberger ( a proper one) will understand what I mean about the truest fundamental note. me, personally, my number 1 P bass is alder, rosewood board. All my favourire sounding P basses have been this, except my first which had a maple board. I have a great band video, shot in 1988/89 using this maple board P bass. It sounds like a maple board and alder body P bass. Slightly glassier is the sound than the rosewood board bass. I don't particularly like ash bodied P basses but I do have one with a fretless maple board. It lacks the punch of alder. Now, an ash bodied telecaster (guitar) with a rosewood board really floats my boat, but a maple boarded one will cut your head of at 30 yards Enjoy everyone and happy Friday

this is fab. My late brother was a massive yes fan and I occasionally dip in and listen to the albums but this is great. Jon's voice is first class here -
He's absolutely smashing it here, using Kemper profiling amps too

Brad Paisley is fantastic. Go and listen to his stuff

About 17 years ago I bought this bass on ebay. 200 quid. Used it for a bit then lent it to my brother in Italy about 13 years ago Went to visit him last week and brought it back to Blighty with me. Restrung with roto swing bass. New battery and wow, what a bass Weighs only 7 pounds so should keep the neck and shoulders happy

this is all useful stuff, maybe converting to a 2x12 is a plan -
I've tried nickel rounds yes, but can't remember what they were like now, I've been back using Swing Bass for about about 10 years now. I love them when they are new and when they are old and thuddy.

I want to re-use my old cabs, I can sell the vintage 30s and put that towards the new speakers. I'll probably never play guitar using a 4 x12 (My 1 x 12 combo is perfect) and rather than trying to sell them for peanuts, I can re-purpose them, Even if I only use them once in a while -
A few moons ago, I set about with a friend, to build lovely valve guitar amps. WKZ we were called. Got a few good reviews and sold a few too. Here's a picture with Phil Hilbourne trying it My woodwork was done in the midlands and the 4x12 cabs were basically old laney cabs. Birch ply, a bit smaller than a classic Marshall cab, loaded with vintage 30s. They sounded fab too. I still have a couple of these cabs lying around and was thinking that maybe, if I changed the drivers to something more bass appropriate, would they make reasonable bass cabs. ( I have the only straight cab made, to make a full stack, all my cabs were angled. I could have a back breaking full stack, like I did when I was young.................stupid..................stronger............wanting to be louder than the guitarist. When I first started gigging on bass I had a Trace Elliot AH150 Mk V thru a brand new marshall 4x12 bass cab. Sometimes my mark bass club 1 x15 just doesnt have enough oomph, on stage. It's rare but I know when I can't get it against a wall, it lacks bottom end (fine in the PA though) Your thoughts please lovely bass chatters Otherwise I'll probably strip the vintage 30s out and sell them singularly

I like the sound of knackered rounds, you know, just before they break. If i could have a set of flats on my P bass (or Jazz) that's what I would like
