  1. met Nick a couple of times, lovely guy my condolances to his family RIP
  2. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG must remove them then actually, as long as there isn't bass and treble to mess with, I should be able to cope
  3. I have a Warwick Reverso Adam Clayton active bass. Volume, bass and treble but if you pull the volume up..................PASSIVE that's where it will stay!!
  4. I need to do that headstock mod to mine I've aso got better tuners as they feel sloppy, even though they hold tune just fine
  5. I removed the knob completely, so it's just the shaft of the pot. This works brilliantly
  6. MAJ a great company. he has some tales to tell and is a fountain of knowledge
  7. I had a 6 string for a while. Played amazing but never gigged it. Really wish I had
  8. yep, @warwickhunt has messaged me about that too I'll hang on for a bit
  9. For me, I'm really digging the warwick buzzard headstock Seen here on my reverso
  10. In my 80s duo, no. If I break a string I can normally change it during the next song I just pick a song with no guitar In my 80s band, always have a spare. Exactly the same. All Brian May guitars, modded the same
  11. I thought it looked ridiculous when I first saw one. Never thought Id play in a U2 tribute. It's all fallen into my lap. The bass was only a 2 hour drive away
  12. Yes it was a cracking price I think. Im pleased it came up when it did as I still havent built the sparkly gold p bass
  13. Very droll Terrance🤣
  14. As some of you may remember I have joined a U2 tribute band A big shout out to @AndyTravis and @warwickhunt for the heads-up It's immaculate and plays and sounds good. Very precision like
  15. my '73 P bass, mine since 1990 and my QSC PA system , 2 x K12 and 2 X Ksub. owned for over 10 years now
  16. Thanks to @warwickhunt and @AndyTravis Warwick Reverso incoming
  17. sounds like 'Pete' is a complete tool. It's such a shame when people behave like this
  18. what I mean is, when it's it's my desk. My keys player usually does the sound but if it is me, I do go out front and listen, then I monitor thru my IEM. It usually works a treat. I recently noticed a lack of guitar at a gig (there were 3 of them). Had I not had my IEM I wouldn't have noticed because they all had amps on stage. When he did a solo I couldnt hear him at all. Needed a new mic lead
  19. I agree with this. My bass playing is much better with IEM Also I try to get the FOH sound in my ears (when I'm doing the sound, I just use the headphone socket on the desk) I cant always get that if someone else is doing the whole PA, so i try and get as balanced a sound as I can
  20. best thing I've ever done. I followed the advice on the bible. KZ ZS10 and KZ ZARs. I cant tell which I prefer. Luckily all my bands use IEM now so it's super easy I won't play without them now, even on a dep gig
  21. I have a northwest neck on a bitsa, its very good, I also have a cheap chinese fretless neck that's good and a fretted one that looks ok but I havent fitted it yet
  22. great gig yesterday. Played 2 x 50 minute sets then 1 x 70 min Home by 7.15, awesome happy new year everyone
  23. This happened to the full band version of my 80s duo. With the drummer, at least half of the set was totally live and a few songs have so much backing vocals, we did cheat and use a very stripped down backing track. Then the drummer didn't want to do pub gigs any more, so we just added the drums to the already used tracks and downloaded the drum bits for the other songs. It's all 80s stuff and we dont miss the drummer at all (and we get more money each, set up, pack down all easier too) we're all used to BT so it doesnt cause any grief
  24. I used to play with the Victory/Cornford amp designer. He always told me off for tying my leads in a knot I coil them now, like he did, with the velcro tag to hold them together It stops my mic leads dying so soon
