1. For the pedal order, just spend a while trying out different orders/combinations to see what sounds best. This is also a great way to get to know your pedals better (how they/their controls react to different situations etc.). As for the looper, I would suggest either having it at the end of the chain, so you can record loops with different effects on them (this helps to differentiate different parts from eachother). Or at the start of the chain, so that you can record a loop, and then add/remove/tweak the effects on that loop to changing sound over the course of a section/song. I use 2 loopers, one "master" looper at the end of my chain that I record longer, layered loops over 3 phrases (well I usually have 1 phrase that runs throughout the song, and alternate the other two for verse/chorus. Depending on the song of course). I then have a second (single phrase) looper that I use at the start of my chain that I use to record shorter loops that I then apply different effects to before (usually) capturing on my "master" looper. I also sync the two loopers using midi so their loops start and stop in sync. Tldr: play about with effects orders, generally place looper at the end unless you want to mess about with effect on a recorded loop.
 2.
There are a couple of Spitfire bass versions ordered as well. Doing these now so won’t be long Here is a link to the guitar version so you can see what it looks like http://www.musicinstrumentnews.co.uk/2017/10/25/dhas-spitfire-ready-take-off/
Out of interest, what is the difference between the bass and guitar version? And I'll definitely post my thoughts here when I've had a play.
 3. Mine arived at my dad's, waiting for me when I get there on Friday!
 4. Bitcrushers are amazing. I love my iron ether frantabit. Loads of 8bit-y, digital nonsense.
 5.
How would a preamp pedal replace a Zoom MS60B, unless you're using the MS60B just as a preamp and a dirt pedal (and not also e.g. as a compressor, tuner, tremolo, chorus and delay)? Out of interest how are you finding the fender micro DI in terms of noise. I got a Donner clone version of the Fender (as it looked identical on paper and was half the price) but it was atrocious for added noise. Lasted 20 mins on my pedal board before being returned for a full refund.
Yup, I use it as a pre. I've never noticed any noise from my fender, I have it powered by the gigrig system from an isolator.
 6.
I think there is some misunderstanding in this thread - a DI basically transforms your signal impedance to symmetric line level for the desk. Using a tube DI will add some tube character to the symmetric output of the DI. It is not built to add this character to the through signal going to the amp. If you want to add some tube-warmth to your amp sound, you need a tube preamp, or some pedal that does this. Of course, this will also change the sound going to the desk, if you use a DI after the preamp.
I think OP meant a di with a valve pre built in? I've pre-orderd the DHA (pun intended =p). Hoping it will replace my ms60b and fender microDI.
 7.
It doesn't matter at the end of the day - you can get the mA rating from the manual, and test manually in a daisy chain to see if it creates noise when sharing power with other pedals. Those are the only two things that are important!
well that, voltage and polarity (it'll be 9v and center -ve though, so no worries there.)
 8.
I still haven't seen anything that has the same squelchy low end as the original DOD FX25. Most others I've tried open up in a similar way but rather than hitting a point where it goes bleeeaughhhghgh' they carry on up the envelope to a whistle. If you see what I mean.
Even with all the controls of my wmd protostar, it is a real hard sweet spot to hit.
 9.
horses for courses but there doesn't seem much difference between the B3 and B1on sound wise anyway but the later is cheaper http://basschat.co.uk/topic/267673-zoom-b3-vs-b1on/
I think the b3, ms60b, b1on and b3n have the same algorithms in them (give or take a few options).
 10. I use an ms60b as for 2 pre's, an amp/cab SIM, and reverb (always on) at the moment, switching one of the pre's on/off for more gain. It can be set to hold the footswitch for a tuner.
 11. This all sounds interesting, but while reading I kept think about using a crossover to split, sending the high signal to a pre, and the low signal to a compressor. Preferably having the HPF set about ~200htz, and the LPF at ~300htz. Then blend together to taste, and send to the FX return and/or DI to the PA.
 12. I had the chase bliss, loved it but moved it on as I never ended up using it as a tremolo. If I ever need a trem, it's the one I would get.
 13. I use my ms60b for preamp, amp/cab sim and a reverb. I've got a pre-order for the new DHA redesign though, so it may get replaced by that and a dedicated verb pedal.
 14.
You advising me to buy more stuff again!
BC in a nutshell =P
 15. If your looking to colour your sound, your probably looking for a preamp with a di more than just a di box.
 16.
Thanks Can you please paypal £135 + £6.90 = £141.90 to [email protected]. You can have the VT1-Spitfire or the VT1-Pro-Bass artwork (both have the same function/tone, etc.) as I will do both for a while and see which one sells best. let me know which one you prefer please Dave
Done. I'd like the vt1pro please.
 17.
Last detour Q on envelope filters
I see what you did there =p
 18.
Yes, a few
Then I'd like to take one =]
 19.
the quieter you listen, the less "bass" (I guess 40-200Hz) you'll hear. Without changing the EQ at all, but simply by turning everything up, you'll hear more bass. Combine this with the fact you're monitoring on headphones which will have a totally different response to your amp and cab in a room a distance away from your ears, you can see why what you're trying to do is actually impossible.
Also the cab will be rolling off some of the top end, which your headphones will keep in.
 20. How are you plugging I to your amp? I do most/all my toneshapping wig my board, so go bass>board>FX return. This way I skip the pre/eq on the amp and control everything on my board.
 21. Some pedals (mostly modulation/delays etc) effect left right differently, so you send each output to different amps/pa channels and get a wider sound. Some give a dry out so you can do a wet/dry setup. You'll have to RTFM to find out which your pedals do. Some pedals have a TRS output for this, some have two mono outs. The main advantage of TRS is smaller footprint usually.
 22. Well for small I went with the jamman express xt, but then it was my only option for a small/simple looper that could sync to midi (and even then I needed to get a 3rd party adapter to do it).
 23. I use both a boss rc50 and a digitech jamman express both synced to midi (the digitech uses a box called a syncman to do this). Just a bedroom worrior ATM, but would be comfortable using both/either live.
