1.
A decent pedal should have: 3 pole switch, 2 poles to give true bypass and 1 to kill the power when OFF.
Alot of pedals use a 3 pole, 2 for bypass and 1 for LED. To use 1 to kill power you would usualy have to wither sacrifice an led or up the production costs quite a bit for batery life. bearing in mind most users will run off of a dedicated supply, id say this would be unnecessary.
2. for compression i love my markbass compressore.
3. I would get a ditto 2 in a heatbeat if i could midi-sync it up to my RC50. its a shame it cant do even simple temposync. I would like to be able to have a short loop (just 1 riff) going, and then feed that loop through my board, and then catch it again after in a longer loop (i usualy run my rc50 as 2 or 4 riffs), im thinking of fitting a few pedals together i have laying about to be a vocal board, and would love a small looper for that as well. I would probably end up geting either another RC50 or a ehx looper, but they both have such large footprints (especialy when i am already using one RC50).

5. I have a zoom MS60B and i like most of the effects on it.
6. Id maybe consider getting a compressor pedal, and a zoom b1on to play about with diferent effects. I use a Zoom ms60b, and there algorithms are quite good as far as multiFX go. Also, Bitcrushers are really fun.
7. I think this will suffer from the same issue allot of fuzzes with scooped mids do, getting lost in the mix.
8.
Must have a shot at MIDI control of a B3. I've got MIDI control of an MS-60B, though I'll need to build something to do the job as lugging around a desktop just to change patches is a non-ideal solution.
Ohh, i actually have an MS60b, what can you control via midi on it? things like tempo or just program change messages?
9. How does the pre/post mode work? it just uses like the right channel to make an effects loop, and then applies itself either before or after it? could it be used to bypass the loop, or just move its own position?
10. I have been after a midi syncable chorus pedal for a while, i did look at getting one of these, but for being larger and priced slightly more than a Modfactor im not sure at how much more you would get. I eventualy decided that i couldnt afored either the price or the board space of anything on the market and am holding out for a cheeper/smaller pedal to come along… How do you find the chorus sound on this though ([s]for when[/s] incase i change my mind)?
11. If your upgrading a power supply from an isolated power brick, id at least think about the gigrig power system. amazing bit of kit. Couldn't imagen my board without one now.
12. The polytune has a power output which can be used to power the aby pedal, this shouldnt add a noticeable amount of noise to your system.
13.
Although a massive faff, I saw this: Midi for the G3 - I guess it'd work with the B3 too!
im guessing that wouldnt work for tempo sync?
14. I'd be happy with a B3 with midi…
15. Is there any way to control the tempo via midi with this pedal?
16. Doesnt look like any of these have midi tempo sync, which is disappointing.
17. I run my frantabit in 3 ways (mostly with the blend about 10:30), as a dirt effect (no sample rate reduction, bits at 10:00~,and then into a defret effect on my zoom unit), as a low-fi (sample rate about 10:00-11:00, no bit reduction) and as a tremolo (sample rate set all the way anticlockwise, no bit reduction, sample rate switch to obliterate). True, I find that I can use the low-fi sample rate reduction as a much more subtle effect than the bit crusher side, but i can find subtle things to do with this peddle. Especially with the switch between actual digital sample rate reduction and a sim of the analogue aliasing like the bugcrusher.
18. If you want a boutique made one, id look up bright onion. He'll build you one that will suit what you need it for.
19.
Maybe some kind of bit crusher too.
This. Some people will try and convince you that you dont actually NEED a bitcrusher, but dont listen to them.
20. That power supply you will need will depend on the current draw of your pedals (how many mA each pedal has). I would sugest a power supply with issolated outputs. If you want the most versitile, highest current powersupply, then go for the gigrig system. If you dont want to splash out that much then i would suggest either a Trex Goliath or Chamelion depending on amount of current your pedals pull.
21. I have used my RC50 live, but not with my electribe. It worked well as master to control the tempo of my delay on stage though. At the time i was in a rock band (part origionals, part covers) and used the RC50 mostly to lay a bassline down, and then play over it, mostly with a little distortion and some delay. One notable exception i used it for was our coer of the hives song 'told you so' which i used the loop pedal to loop teh main riff during the bass-only section in the middle8 and the whole band froze in wierd possitions whilst the singer sang over it. It worked quite well (and confused a few punters, which is always a fun thing to do). It has held up great so far, no nasty supprises. As an aside, i have been trying to get a midi foot controller to control my electribe (im starting to play more out-there, electronic stuff), and have been having dificaulty. I am trying to get the controler to do things like start/stop; change pattern; change song. It is proving a bit beyond my knoledge of midi. I think i have simply gotten the wrong type of foot controler, it sends program change messages, i think i need one to send CC. Edit: i have used the RC50 and electribe very well in practices, we just havnt giged in this setup yet. From my expirences so far, i am not worried about using them live at all.
22. Be sure to make a note of how many amps each pedal pulls, and make sure that the supply you get has more than that (either for the total, or for each isolated output).
23. I use a markbass compressore, its an amazing pedal that i cant recomend enough. Also, +1 for ovnilab, a link there should have a sticky.
