1. A Little off topic, but anyone know where i could get Sir HC's No Squares Allowed pedal? or maybe a clone or something? That thing looks like it would synergise with a bitcrusher and/or synth pedal to do some weird things.
2. Thats a shame. Something to look out for next year i guess.
3. I was following a couple of pedals i was going to bid on tonight, and they said they where going to finish at 1-2AM tonight, check the site to see what prices they where at, and they had ended already. Its a shame, the pedals i was interested went pretty cheap too.
4. Have all the auctions just ended 8~hours early? or is that my browser messing up?
5. Bought an Iron Ether Frantabit off oneinchman. Recieved the pedal yesterday (exactly one week after posted to N.Ireland). I was kept informed the whole way through and given the tracking number so i could follow the pedal on its journey. Many thanks. elephantgrey.
6. Shep has a few blogs about setting up a board (here) which you might find helpful. I think the first one explains about signal and power leads.
7.
Hmmmm, can you set a 'default' sound then use the footswitch to dial in another sound? Tnx for the info.
I use my ms50b as 3 effects always on, then the 4th i switch on with the footswitch and edit with the dials mid performance. I believe you can cycle between a couple of presets with the footswitch instead of using it to bypass one effect (the one selected) also, holding down the footswitch either switches to tuner mode, or tap tempo (i use neither, as i have a polytune, and like all my time base effects to be synced via midi)
8. Check this out…
9. I also believe he lost a few workers about the same time.
10. Ill email you when i get back to mine RE: power supply (im away for a few days). Whats the specs on the flight case?
11. Nice one, ill message him presently. Ive been checking his website daily, but it has just been the same message.
12. Has anyone heard from them recently? I know that there was some troubles, and that they lost a few people so where struggling to catch up to orders (and posibly just before releasing new/updated pedals?). Does anyone know the state of there backlog? They must have been not taking orders for about 6 months now. I am starting to worner if they are just swamped with backorders, or if they are actualy going to start taking them again? Any news would be greatly apreciated. I've been sitting on the money for a Frantabit since just after they stopped taking orders and still am really GASing for one.
13. Isnt there a new bass whammy out? That might have an effect on the lowering of price of the original.
14.
I have read that the compressor should be before the ovtaver in order to even out the signal but tru both.
This can help, but unless your having trouble with tracking i would worry about your overall tone than that. I think the best thing to do would be to split the signal at the start of the board, have a compressor limiting the hell out of one signal, then EQ, then octaver (full wet output), and blend that in wherever you want that in the chain. That is a very extreme solution to tracking though.
15. Im curtain that Bright Onion will do that for you. I got a 4x momentary switch made for my RC50 from him, and he asked alot of questions about things like how i wanted it wired and such but ended up with the perfect pedal for what i wanted.
16. I would check the marketplace on here for an LS2, otherwise check out this guy to make you one.
17.
One of those DIY jobs from ikea. Ive already taken it out to few noise gigs and its a right pain in the arse not having a good sized bang for it. Nobody knows what to think when Im telling them how cheap it was to put together as Im struggling like mad to squeeze it into sports bag. Ive chucked all the wires n that under the board and Im going to put a back and sides on it to save even more space by putting the power underneath and give it an angle, still feels better than the ball ache of setting it all up on the spot, just still slightly mental in this state. For bass Id have a COG fuzz and meatbox on their instead of Flanger Hoax, but not in that place. Ha, so basically this is irrelevant and I just wanted to post.
Nice to see someone else with a flanger hoax. Some nice self oscillation off of that thing. I just wish i could replace its LFO with a digital one so i could tempo-sync it over midi with everything else i have.
18.
GigRig Generator. That way you can also power the rest of your rig from the same PSU when you use it by just clipping in a cable, and have a range of different options for pretty much anything you need. Liam
I was looking at getting one before i decided to split off these pedals onto there own board, as it was the only one that had enough current. I hadnt thought of running this board with one, then splitting off another distributor onto the other board. Just hadnt occurred to me really. Interesting idea though. As a side note, i really wish that the gigrig system could do AC, then i could wire my drum machine (Korg ESX1) off of it.
19. I would start by trying Compressor>tuner>Octave>Envelope>FZ-5>Big Muff>Tone hammer This of course is just a recommendation, half the fun is trying out different orders, and finding new interesting combinations that make new sounds that you like. Even trying different settings of one pedal can alter the sound of another one the other side of the chain. Play about, find a few that you like, then try them in a band situation.
20.
Parkinson's Law applies to pedal collections - they expand to fill the space available. So no matter what board you buy it will never seem big enough. In the end you either find yourself with several boards, or one of modest size. Either way you won't be satisfied, but the latter option is at least cheaper.
Im thinking about going with the multiple approach. atleast then i can set up an essentials board, get a dedicated power supply for it and not have to carry about individual effects and a bunch of wall warts (unless i want some of my more fun effects)
Pedal train junior, and a diago power station. https://www.hotroxuk.com should be your one stop pedal needs shop, all budgets accommodated for.
the junior looks about right, but im thinking of going with an isolated power supply.
21.
An RPi would be really neat but I don't really have time to get that set up and I don't know enough about audio processing in Linux. I've got a Macbook Pro which I used to use for work a couple of years ago but is now fairly redundant, so I'm using that. Plus I've already got an audio/MIDI interface for it.
cool, ill be interested to hear how this moves forward.
22. Im thinking that i might go for the Fuel Tank Chameleon for the power supply, and use two current doublers, one for the MS60b and one for the compressore.
23. What are you planning to run the software on? something like a laptop, a raspberry pi type micro computer, or a steam machine type small PC?
