1. The other end is connected to the jack socket. You can make it out in the picture.
2. Here you go:
3. Bought an EHX B9 from Carlos. It was a fantastically easy purchase. Pedal was immaculate as described, comms were excellent and delivery was very fast. I would not hesitate to deal with him again. Now I'm off to brush up my Jimmy Smith licks
4. For any prospective buyers here is a pretty good demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgq9hlJysj8
5.
Isnt the Boss GT10B out of production ?
On closer inspection, it looks like it is. - perhaps we'll get a GT-100B soon? The Zoom B3 is great too, but I find the switching a bit annoying live. The GT-10B allows for total control over any parameter. As I said before, from what you say getting a few seperate fx will probably be your best bet. You could get a Zoom MS-60b as one if them. Plenty of amp sims, drives, modulation, pitch and other stuff in there.
6. For me, with the budget you've got (and seeing as you seem to have a very clear idea of what you're after) I'd get seperates. If it has to be a multi fx then for my money the Boss GT-10B is the best.
7. +1 for the BB Preamp. One of my faves for tubey grind.
8.
Of course . Now I'm wondering whether I've got too many of the boxes. Micro rack series now consists of : compressor limiter ( rcl-10) Digital delay( rdd-10) Phaser (rps-10) Flanger ( rbf-10)! Overdrive distortion( rod-10) Digital reverb( Rrv-10) Digital chorus ensemble ( rce-10) Pitch shifter delay (rps-10) Power supply (rpw-7) 2 delays ? Mmm.. Apparently, the power supply should be able to power them all?? Then I've got to work out what order to put them in. ( or have I?)!
You've definitely not got too many, you still need the parametric EQ and the Graphic. Then you can collect the Pro series too. You'll need both the SE-50 and SE-70. A couple of VF-1's :-)
9. Can I just Ditto the above comments……..I'll get my coat!
10. Nice pedals! always fancied one of those Source Audio EQ's. That OC-2 is interesting too, It looks like its got post Octaver darker paint, but with the"r". I'm sure Sibob will be along soon to spill the beans. GLWTS
11. Good plan, glad it helped.
12. Splendid, further picture upon its arrival please!
13. Mines clean as a whistle on a Diago micro power and various other psu's. I would check the earthing on the basses or for any mains hum.
14. Bought a DBX 166A compressor from Rich. Really easy deal typical of Basschat. I can but echo all of the above.
15. Bought a TU-2 tuner from Mark. Hassle free purchase, good comms.
16. Bought a pedal from him. Easy transaction, good comms. Hassle free purchase
17. If you want a standard 19" rack tray the RAD-10 or RAD-50 are best, but really hard to come by. I used one of these for my Boss 1/2u rack stuff and it works fine - you'll need slightly longer screws, but it fits and is cheap: http://www.thomann.de/gb/thon_rackwanne_1he.htm?ref=prod_rel_165239_0
18. I wouldn't bother with the plastic rack. If they are staying at home you should try to find a BMR-5: http://www.bossarea.com/other/bmr5.asp I think the Chorus, Phaser, OD and Flanger are all analogue so will sound great! They delays are most certainly digital. From what I remember the micro series had more options than the Boss compacts, but the circuits were very similar.
19. Pm'd
20. Nice one, great collection! How do they stand up against modern effects? I've only ever used the compressor, which I like.
21. Great basses, I paid a lot more for mine too. Bargain! GLWTS
22.
I have used one of the Studiomaster C3X mixers for a couple of years in a similar way you're talking about - I mix my bass, vocals and a general band mix from the desk into my IEM Tx and it works very well. The IEM system has a limiter but the C3X doesn't. There is also no dedicated headphone out from the C3X so I use the headphone monitor out jack on the IEM Tx when running a wired setup or during rehearsal. I looked around for a while for a 1U mixer that had some EQ on each channel and whilst the EQ points are not bass guitar specific it does the job very well. The ability to add a bit of reverb to my vocals and control the balance of the three inputs is very handy. We don't have a digital desk and we only have two aux outs so it was the best way I could think of to get around the limitations of the desk and still have control over my IEM mix When we get around to buying a digital desk I will probably ditch the C3X but for now it works well
Great, thanks for the info. The C3 or C3X is looking like a favourite at the moment.
23. I've been looking at this also - any good, or overkill? http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/oct03/articles/focusritett.htm
24.
I'd be looking at a 1u rack mount mixer. Not sure that many have on-board limiters and headphone amps though so you might need a couple of additional boxes wired in (limiter pedal in an insert plus whatever headphone amp you currently use?)
Great so something like this: http://www.studiomas...rack-mixers/43/ with something like this: http://www.samsontec.../c-class/cque8/ And add a compressor/limiter
25.
What desk are you using?
Well, it varies - At some venues they have a house desk; analogue or digital Mackies. When we bring our own kit we use a Yamaha O1V.
