  1. Fantastic Phaser 😁
  2. Ahh Bas! You clearly have too much time on your hands 😂
  3. That's funny as I've been thinking of selling my cali76 CB to buy an optifet 😂 Depends what you want from a comp, I want gentle softening of the sound, maybe level out string pops when slapping, but mostly a magical little box, that just gives the sound a little lift ( like the Diamond,3 leaf Pwnzor,cali76 etc) if you want a hard clean limiter then I'd imagine the MXR will work well for you 😁
  4. Absolutely spot on!!
  5. Yeah i wish they could impart some of that in the Compact bass. One chap on here added a Hudson Broadcast to get nearer that sound, great idea.
  6. I had the M87 I couldn't get rid of it fast enough. Very transparent, attack/release controls seemed to have very little effect and by far the noisiest comp I've ever had. All purely IMO of course as the pedal has its fans. It sounded nothing like the Cali76 which adds a nice subtle sheen to your tone, (as described in ovnilab like adding a high quality preamp) its just light years ahead of the MXR in every way. I think the MXRS control set is similar to the 1176 and that's it.
  7. Awesome board 😁
  8. The hyper luminal looks cool! arn't the different compressor modes digitally modelled? It does have an Analog signal path, but I'd be curious to see If the FET model, is a match for my Cali76CB
  9. My old amp, sounds amazing! Are you still using those Accugroove cabs then Peter?
  10. That would be very much appreciated 😁
  11. Yeah I've got the Cobalts on my old JV jazz (weeny 95-40 ones 😂) and they are lovely and bright, even slapping is nice on them. I'd imagine a heavy set, will give you what you need 😁
  12. My favourite Bass Chorus! Sublime Flanger too. Also a fantastic seller, so buy with confidence😁
  13. Lol! I think he'll start up again, when the Tory Government falls. Hes very passionate about that 😁
  14. The earlier Wenge necks,(which this is) were nice and slim (as in shallow). The later ones were ovangcol and were chunky chunky baseball bats
  15. Ahh I remember those boards! I was a fan of "our Helical Mind" at the time, and you actually inspired me,to get more into effects and electronic music. I actuslly bought one of your Diago boards at the time 😁
  16. Are they the ones of him grabbing his secretary's bum?
  17. Board of the week! Love it 😁
  18. It helps with my wanting, but not with raising the cash 😁
  19. Lol I'm looking at my gear and wondering how much of it will be decimated to buy this 🤣
  20. Absolutely stunning!!
  21. Absolutely stunning! If it had black hardware, it would be the "Tears are falling" bass 😍😍😍 I want a Spector so badly 😁
  22. That is really lovely!
  23. So boards changed again,as I've got rid of a few pedals, to buy another bass (as you do) had a change around of some and have a slightly different layout. EBS Microbass 2 - this is the third one of these I've had, and I'd forgotten how brilliant they are. Works as an A/B box for 2 basses, or two channels for one, and an OD, DI, headphone amp it also has a loop with a control for parallel to series operation. I've put all my effects into the loop, so I can use them with the headphone amp and set the dial to 100% effect as I don't need any clean blended in. first in the loop Cali76 CB - I've tried most of them and love this for versatility while still being intuitive to use. It has fantastic natural tone, which just makes you sound better. (Although I've seriously got my eye on an FEA optifet 🤣) This then goes into the main input of a Boss LS2,so all channels are massaged by the Cali76. This then goes back to the EBS, this is my main clean sound, I can switch effects in/out using the Ls2 Ls2 Loop A - Analog Channel Cog T70 triple Octave - 3 channel octaves with its own loop. Two separated T65 octaves which ive set 1 for a clean smooth octave and another for a synthy octave up sound, utilising the filters. It has a third "sub" channel which has no clean just octave. The filters can get this fairly close to the OC2 sound. The loop on this enables "parallel" octave so any effects used have the octave clean underneath, in this loop I have Zvex Mastatron fuzz- gated spitty funky fuzz! An absolute fuzzy classic and is must on any board. It adds to the synthy channel on the T70 to create an massive fuzzed octave. In series to The T70 MXR Bass Chorus Deluxe - fantastic warm chorus/Flanger. I have it set to affect only the high end,so subtle but a lovely sound. I particularly love the Flanger setting. EBS Dphaser - fabulously funky multi stage phaser, with lots of control and sounds very deep and cool Ls2 Loop B - digital Synth Channel Source Audio C4 synth- this has so many sounds and I'm finding it's able to replace more and more of my board. Loads of octaves/filters/phasers/bit crushers/fuzzes and synths. I have the Disaster Area Micro DMC so I can access 128 sounds from the C4. So versatile. These to channels can be mixed via the LS2 (the most useful pedal in existance)
  24. When I saw it, I thought of you! Not sure if I can bare to part with mine, especially as they are rare as hens teeth used, and currently not being made.
  25. Mine is the core of my pedalboard! Very good price on this too.
