It's a beautiful collection! I live my pedals too, unfortunately I can't afford a huge collection and have to sell some to buy more ๐๐

The title of this thread sounds just like my wife ๐๐

Sounds amazing! How ridiculously expensive would that be๐ it's not their business model though, I love the seperate multi effect thing that they do.

So much like JML you had no idea you needed one of these, until those lovely companies started making them. Tidy up your cabling to/from your pedal board! Easy to use send jack into the input of your first pedal, and from yiur last pedal into the return. Your cables from your bass and to your amp are in one convenient place. It is a very high quality bit of kit in as new condition, features Neutrik jacks and has high quality Velcro on the bottom. I've an EBS Microbass2 which does the same job (and a lit more) so this isn't needed. SOLD

So I've been restoring my 82 JV Squier jazz back to its stock format, and decided to get one of these, vintage Spiral Saddled bridges as I got one on my P bass and it's great. I literally bought this brand new about 4 weeks ago, it got sent to a tech, who as doing the stripping work and he fitted it. When I got the bass back, the bridge is brilliant but it was too SHINY for my 39 year old, battle scarred bass๐ I've now bought reliced Gotoh which is pretty much the same thing, but dirty!! HOSCO are the distributor for Gotoh and I suspect, Hosco parts are made by Gotoh, as they are made in Japan (although the Hosco is a tad thicker and has a slightly bigger baseplate) Anyway as new, although I don't have any screws for it (I suspect they ended up, in my techs spares drawer) steel baseplate, Brass saddles etc NOW SOLD

Cool!! A good optical comp is great if your using digital effects. I used to use a Effectrode then a Diamond and later the 3leaf Pwnzor which both worked well, with the source audio Gemini I had at the time, it almost puts back that Analog fatness. I think you'd regret it, if you relied on the the Helix comp (and I'm sure it's great)

I like the simplicity of the Cali as the combined attack/release works well for me. But tonally it's very bright and I'd like somethibg warmer! That being said, I've gone to passive on my basses (except my musicman) so having that extra clarity will work nicely. I haven't tried a helix, and I've seriously considered that route myself, but I've seen too many people sell all their board to buy one, then promptly start to buy compressors and octaves as they arnt happy with the models. An ideal board would be having both, I'd say if you can afford it, try to get the Helix and keep the FEA (the warmth from that comp, will help soften some of the digital effects)

Thank you so much! That's really helpful, but just reading this, has given me a headache and is making my teeth itch. I think ill wait, until they've sorted out the bugs and go back to my numerical system ๐

Goodness that sounds like a faff! But as I want the preset names,it's going to have to be done. So you need to manually type the names in? Is there a YouTube walkthrough for the process? ๐

Cool! Have you done this yet? I'll get mine updated๐

Dave Wilson is one of the finest fellows ive ever dealt with. I've had a bass that was re finished by Dave and it was stunning. I believe he used to do the finishes for Overwater, if I had the cash, my jazz would be winging its way for a surf green with matching headstock jobbie ๐

Haha yes!! With just the 5's Lots of Warwicks,Ken Smith, Spector,Musicman. Still come back to Yamaha (TRB, BB) the 424/425 are the best value basses I've ever used.
-
My first 5 string was the BBN5! Great little bass, as i recall i spent about ยฃ400 new vack in 1996. I liked it so much I bought the first Nathan East signature about a year later.
-
Recently bought a BB 425 from Mark! Lovely bloke and great comms. He gave me a great price and happily delivered halfway, so I could get it sent on from a friends. Bass was in great nick, and he's highly recommended. Thanks loads Mark ๐

I regularly gigged a sunburst 424 with flats in a rock and roll show, and was very happy. That being said I did sell it to buy a P bass ๐๐
-
That would have my interest! But massively overpriced.

Thought I'd leave something on here for Mr Travis. I've been friends with Andy on here for well over 10 years, and chatted long before that. I've dealt with him many times, and he's always been unfailingly honest and I've gone to him many times for advice. I recently bought a yamaha 5 string from a lovely bloke on here, and as delivery wasn't an option he delivered it to Andy on my behalf. Now not only did Andy travel to Morecambe and deliver it to me in person, he took the time to clean and oil the neck, give it a full setup and even sourced some Yamaha straplocks for the bass. An absolute gent of a person and I'm very privileged to count him as a freind๐ Thanks loads bro I owe you one!

I'm pretty certain, that basses are sent out like dogs dinners, as manufacturers don't want to spend the cash employing someone to set up every bass. They will assume the setup would never be right for the potential buyer, who will get it done themselves. And yes, I'd imagine a lot of stores would rather you pay them ยฃ50+ extra to do what they should be doing in their "Showroom". And don't get me started on paying extra for high end cab covers or even gig bags on expensive items๐
