This is how I run one of our desks. The outputs for FOH are at the back, so all they need to do is take their feeds straight from the isolated outputs. All of the phantom power is supplied by the QU and we use our own DI's (this particular desk is mainly for an electronic duo). Setting up is pretty quick and the monitoring is already done, with only a couple of tweaks here and there.

That's a great gift! I've never been into that place, despite it being fairly local. What's it like?

I'm very sorry to hear this, condolences to all who knew her.

I think the only one I can think of was my shout of "You're in the wrong key you wonka" to the keys player, which led to the following picture. 🤣
-
Yep, that's my reasoning as well.

Not totally, but a thick layer of clothing would be just as effective against both types.

Out of curiosity, do people have a "go to" place to look at for vintage fenders? I'm casually looking for a '73 at some point over the next year or two, so I'd like to get an idea what the market rate would be. I know it will vary based on a number of factors, but a rough guide is fine for now.

Just to further ruin the joke, you wouldn't need lead to shield alpha and beta rays, aluminium would do the job just as well.

If they've contacted me, they have the wrong number.

I have the "Lee Sklar" Warwick (rockbass version). I bought it mainly because I love the look of it, but the association with Leland doesn't bother me, there are worse people to be a fan-boy of.

As a general rule, I like to by UK made wherever possible, however none of my current basses are. I've got a barefaced cab, Ashdown amp (I think it's UK) and a couple of bass effects (DHA and Origin effects) Guitar wise, I've got an Atkin acoustic, A Hiwatt DR103, two self-built 2x12 cabs and a shed-load of Pete Cornish pedals.

One from Friday night. We supported Thea Gilmore at a fairly local event in Northwich, designed to highlight the venue's potential. Hopefully they'll be able to put on more acts, as it could turn out to be a decent place to play, with a possible capacity of 1,000.

Hopefully seeing Turin Breaks in Manchester on Friday.

My reply would probably be deleted under the "no politics" rule. However, let's just say that I disagree with you.

Not forgetting of course, his signature Warwick...

Had a fun afternoon playing at the Manchester Food and Drink festival. Apparently my playing was improved no end by not drinking a copious amount of beer beforehand. Not sure that's a trend to be encouraged 🤣
-
Nice! We played there last time, it was good fun.

He sounds like an utter tool. There's no excusing that behaviour.

Played at The British Country Music Festival yesterday, in the ballroom of the Winter Gardens, Blackpool. A great venue, but acoustically challenging, with lots of hard, reflective surfaces. I played through the supplied Ampeg SVT and had to turn it down after the first number, as it was a huge on stage sound and it swamped out all of the other monitors. Oops!

I could have sent my OH, the kids and in-laws, as that's just down the road from them. That would have been an experience for you!

Nice! We're on our way back after playing the Little Big Top yesterday (I didn't play, just tech) It was a great festival wasn't it?

Some VERY good news at last - live music back by the Spring?

Cool! No, we were only booked for North, bloomin' drummer only works Saturday and Sunday morning, so it was a bit far for us to go for that one. -

We were supposed to play there on Sunday, but one of the band caught covid last week. They're starting to get better, but no smell or taste and a head full of wool, despite being double-vaxx'd Looks like a great crowd and you had good weather for it! -

We've had to pull our gig at CarFest North tomorrow, as one of the (double jabbed) band members has caught it. I think there will be a lot of last minute substitutes over the coming months.
