1. '75 4001 and a black guard P here - but on an Oly White
2. My son has the short scale version which sounds, and plays, fantastic GLWTS
3. Not used them on a Squier, but my old MIM P (2005 I think) was fine with the heavy gauge La Bella '54 set.
4. Bump for a great video, really enjoyed that! GLWTS, seems a terrific bass
5. And back up, it's not being used to its full potential in my current setup...
6. We've played to a full set to nobody at an in-pub beer festival. To be fair, two people wandered in at one point and realised they were at the wrong pub, and we did get a dad and his two kids dancing for our self-initiated encore. But otherwise nobody in a decent sized room, and we got free beer and paid, despite actually feeling sorry for the pub and saying the free beer was enough!
7. Back to '84 for a 4001 for the Lemmy & Cliff association. Probably the last time I GASsed because of the players rather than the bass (or look of the bass )
8. Far too many candidates to list, but if I had to choose one, it would be buying a £40 Boss Compressor c. 1986, to use through a cheapie 10 Watt practice combo. With, shall we say, 'less than noticeable' results.
9. Bought an MXR pedal, very fast service and communication, and just as described! Thanks for the faultless transaction Richard.

11. Top service from Karl when I bought his Orange Terror amp - highly recommended and a credit to Basschat! Cheers Karl Kevin
12. Hi, please can you confirm nut width and weight? And do the pots crackle, or any other electronic issues? Cheers.
13.
OK, don't laugh loud here ... I am using a 15-watt Fender Frontman 15G amp the one I used for my guitar with treble at 0
I certainly started out that way 30 years ago - albeit with a 15w bass practice amp that picked up the local cab firm through the single coil pickups of my Arbiter bass! Great advice above - meanwhile while you save for a new amp, move your frontman amp into a corner to help accentuate the bass frequencies, and play fingerstyle near the neck.

feedback for Deedee

I sold Dan a Classic 50s Precision, very communicative and fast payment, and let me know it had arrived safely. A pleasure to do business with, thanks Dan!
15. And sold, thanks for all the interest and kind comments
16.
Did I miss the weight of this splendid machine?
No, but I did - sorry! Bathroom scales shows just approx 8 lbs 12 oz, including bridge and pickup covers. That seems consistent with e.g. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PBass50LBk (8 lbs 10 oz without the covers). Certainly a lot lighter than my '79 P
17. I bought a vintage bass from Lee, fantastic bargain and he was very communicative and easy to deal with throughout. And as mentioned above the packaging was terrific! Deal with confidence
18. Weekend bump - will also include a set of La Bella '54 110 flats and some Fender bridge foam for maximum old school thumpicity
