1. Ross bought my Baer cabs - fast payment, kept in touch throughout, a perfect transaction and a nice guy. Many thanks! Kev
2.
Hard to beat for VFM good ol' Tommy Walsh eh!
The entire range is up for a quid, I also got a 31-piece set of heads to dismantle an old PC. It could be that they are cheap because the packaging (or tools themselves) have no indication of sizing - but they do the trick!
3. A mere quid for this lot at Poundland, which covers truss rod, string tree , pickups, pickguard, strap holders and bridge on a Fender P. You'll need to label them yourself, but a bargain for a decent rubber-handle set.
4. Loved my MIM P, felt about half the weight of my '79 P, and best of all took a set of LaBella 1954 flats without warping the neck. And I hear great things about the classic and road worn Mexican builds
5. No Jaki Liebezeit?!?!?! He'd have the best drumming surname on the list too!
6. Thanks Deaver - yes, I can split; I have a potential buyer for both though. In case that sale is not confirmed I will let you know (and update the thread). Note I will be away (but with online access) from later today until Saturday 8th, so collection/delivery will be not possible over that period. Cheers!
7. Shame mine's at the dry cleaners...
8.
Indeed... I would imagine that, in the right circumstances, these would create a 'Storm Baer'!
Added the glowing review from Bass Gear magazine (http://epublish.panaprint.com/publication/?i=135014)
9. I'm happy with our Behringer PMP 4000 setup, great value. Worth looking at deals on Thomann etc.
10. Indeed! Sorry I completely missed that. In fact I hadn't heard the term 'Fenderbird' before, now reading up...
11. Seems ideal for a tribute: certainly more affordable than a Mike Lull (which looks amazing)! http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Mike_Lull_T4_TB.html
12. Looks like the owner is a BC member : http://basschat.co.uk/topic/190841-hi-from-the-netherlands/page__hl__rob+van+den+broek__fromsearch__1
13.
+1 on the Bronco. I loved mine from years back but sadly it had an unfortunate episode with a flight of stairs.
+2 ! My son has one and I keep borrowing it for fun.
14. With the arrival of my Greenboy 2x15 its time to move on my two Baer ML112s with padded covers. Review See the Bass Gear review on the Bass Gear magazine website, http://epublish.pana...ation/?i=135014 or archived here: http://www.bassdirec...lification.html History and condition Both cabs were bought new from Bass Direct, and are the first generation model. They have been gigged locally approx. 15 times, but well looked after. The speakers are the originals and work perfectly. There are no rips, cracks or loose points in the Tolex - it's an excellent tough Tolex and fitting job . The handles look fine, and are fully attached. The covers are lightly marked (see pics) but I will see if the marks will sponge off. The covers have no rips. Cabinet feet are all sound, the grilles on both cabs are firmly in place, and the back panel connection points are unmarked and tight. Speaker configuration is 12" + 6", 350w at 8 Ohms. Picture album at: https://www.flickr.c...157661701179645 Reason for sale My band plays strictly Motown and blues, and whilst they can handle the material well they are really voiced for rock (Geddy and Chris Squire were apparently the key influences on Roger Baer's design), and cut through beautifully. Postage/collection/payment I have the original tough Baer cardboard boxes for postage. Courier will be £25 mainland UK. You are of course welcome to come and trial them, I'm in Tonbridge, Kent. Payment either by BACS transfer or cash on collection.
15.
That head would be cool recovered with the green material! Can I use the word 'heft'?
Guy kindly provided spare green paint - it is tempting!
16. Just taken delivery of a Greenboy Dually 215, with 2 x Faital 15PR400s and a custom green paintjob, from Tricky Audio. Here it is with its new Fender buddies. Sounds lovely, although not yet tested at battle volume so will report back following first practice session. A doddle to move with meaty handles and casters. Big thanks to Guy from Tricky Audio!
17.
Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie. Stunning.
Indeed - although that was a triple album, with each side being themed - the running order was different to the CD to match these themes (and the LP had two extra tracks). Edit: come to think of it, it was a 2xCD, and a triple LP - so either a double or triple album!
