3. Fantastic price including the rare rack ears! Have a bump from a fellow owner.
 4. Fantastic cabs and rock solid build quality, have a bump from a happy owner!
 5. Just took delivery this afternoon, not yet plugged in but wanted to share a few pics! Many of you will have seen this model at various shows, it is (I think the first?) Acrylic Resin Treated (ART) model from ACG. This imparts a unique colour pattern based on the wood cell structure. Here is the ACG page for this bass: http://www.acguitars...-art-recurve-4/ I have taken hi res pics but have posted them on photobucket to save bandwidth here, make sure you click the zoom icon on the top right of each photo to get the best definition of that pattern! Link to photobucket gallery: http://s1172.photobu...4?sort=4&page=1 Sound samples to follow from the ACG DFM preamp....and thanks to Alan for the great service
 6. I run 2 x Baer ML112 , 16.5 kg each, or just the one in a pub. Usually I 'lend it out' to whoever we are playing with, and it cuts through beautifully. So certainly worth trying a Baer or similar that stresses the mids, e.g. a Fearful/Fearless, Bergantino, etc.
 7. Is UK courier an option? Much as I love Manchester I'm not able to get there too easily
 8. Thanks all!
You can buy the S Harris necks separately from the Stratosphere
Ah, I couldn't find the SH, but apparently the Roger Waters neck is also thick: http://www.stratosphereparts.com/2014-fender-roger-waters-precision-p-bass-neck-guitar-vintage-50s-maple-save/ .
I too like a chunky neck on a Precision, and have found the 70s profiles idea
I'll look out for some - am I right in thinking that 'U','D', 'C' etc. describe the shape but the depth front to back can vary over the years?
The neck on the MIM Classic 50 is pretty wide and chunky..
Have heard good things about those,is this the one? http://www.stratosphereparts.com/vintage-50s-lacquer-nitro-fender-p-bass-neck-precision-1957-tinted-maple/
Have you tried altering your left hand technique or strap height?
Yes, it's partly related to an old finger injury, a thicker neck to grip seems to help. Although it's also true that the technique needs work!
...no other bruthas can deny...
Amen!
 9. Played 90 mins on Saturday's pub gig, rock blues covers, and my left hand was cramping by the end. I play a MIM P with La Bella .110 flats, and I'd like some more support from the neck, i.e. front to back depth. Only the base of the fingers seems to be touching the neck on the MIM. I've read up on the profiles of the 50s reissue P's, and the AVRI 63, but short of finding one to try can anyone please advise on how their neck depth/shape would compare to the MIM? Cheers!
 10.
I'm in the middle of a 'discussion' with my amp tech who is doing stuff to my Matamps
Ah yes, looks like the GT200 comes with a KT120s option, http://www.matamp.co.uk/amplification/gt200.htm . Would love to A/B that with the Bluetone!
 11. Losing my marbles - the company name is Bluetone, not basstone! Now edited
 12. Anyone seen or heard these Finnish heads? http://www.bluetone.fi/en/ace-of-bass/ I'm after a loud clean tone so as I understand it KT120s would be a good choice - and I love the vintage look (especially the oiled mahogany variant ). But reviews are thin on the ground - does anyone here have one? Cheers!
 13.
Honestly, that made me gasp. It should have read 'taking our lives in our hands we plugged in and...' For your own sakes, please be more cautious next time.
Yes - really stupid, and no excuse. The lesson I've learnt here is always check the venue beforehand where feasible (and this was, it's local) then I could have had this checked out beforehand and no worries on the night. My electrician friend tested and confirmed they were regular, working 3-pin 13 amp sockets, but of course we should have done that before flicking the switch. Nobody at the venue knew why they were labelled with the warning. It's possible it was to make more visible the warning of the big heater socket which was next to them, but that's a guess.
IF indeed - which is unlikely in what is probably a public venue. How many jobbing bands have qualified electricians setting up their gear for them? How many people would understand what precautions to take when using sockets labelled '400V'? How many people would just plug in anyway and hope?
Certainly I will from now on, regardless of peer pressure or time constraints or even if 'it's a fundraiser, we don't want to let them down' etc. Anyways a big thank you to everyone for replying to this so quickly on a Saturday night, and for slapping some sense into me! Won't happen again
 14. Thanks all - asking a local electrician to check it out! Will keep you posted.
 15. Regular 3-pin UK socket with a '400 Volt' sticker on it.
 16. Have just set up for tonight's gig, in a pub barn next to the carvery. The sockets there are all labelled 400 Volt, which IIRC is a 3-phase supply for industrial heaters. Throwing caution to the wind we plugged in to them with our 230 v equipment, and it all seems to work. I'm hoping that is because it does not deliver 400 volts all the time, rather it can just peak at that. Is that right? Cheers!
 17. This was originally mine from new (Nevada music), gorgeous smooth tone and lots of power in the parametric EQ. dood is a true gent to deal with too! Someone had better snap this up before I get second thoughts and buy it back...
 18. I'm considering he following setup, anything I should be aware of...? P bass - > LeadFoot A/B/Y signal splitter ----> Fender Rumble 200 combo (v3, 1x15) with tone set flat ----> Fender Rumble 200 combo (v3, 1x15) with tone set for some drive ...plus (when needed) DI from the SansAmp to PA. Aim is for:

portability, saving one on the head-cab-cab trip I make to the car now
flexibility, as I can just take one combo to practice
tonal mix, with the chance of mild drive through one combo and clean through the other
I prefer this over a single combo and ext cab because I'm assuming that the two combos will struggle less at volume, because it's not a very powerful head, and also it allows (3) above. Any thoughts appreciated! Cheers.
 19. Thanks chaps! No trades this time unfortunately - I picked up a lovely MIM P from BCer Harry a few weeks back
