1. Just got a lovely Ampeg Micro CL stack from Matt: as described, well packaged, great comms, a credit to Basschat Cheers!
2. Boss BF-3 bass (and guitar) mono and stereo flanger, in full working condition with box and manual. One small nick in paintwork on front (on the right of the letters 'BF-3' in the photo) otherwise excellent cosmetically. £45 posted in UK. Cheers!
3. NOW SOLD MXR M87 Compressor, fully working, £100 posted in UK. I bought this from a fellow BC'er, it has some light scuffs on the side and a velcro strip stuck to the bottom. Will post a photo tomorrow. Complete with box and manual. Cheers!
4. Love it! I'm a fan of Man...or Astroman? and Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet, and any modern (and vintage) surf/drag. Great work, thanks for sharing

4x15

Crikey, a Fender Super Bassman 300 into a fEARless Dually 2x15 is practically a sonic weapon at distance, I can well believe the 4x18 tale above. I have to be a good 6 feet away to hear it on stage at battle volume, but you can hear and feel it in the car park...
6. Lots of love for the Noble Preamp at Talkbass, but are there any Basschat owners? How was the experience (and customs charge!) ordering direct, and does anyone gig with it, and through what? Any comparisons with a REDDI etc. very welcome. http://nobleamps.com/preamps/ Muchas gracias
7. Sold a Precision to Pete, terrific guy and a credit to basschat buyers! Deal with confidence Cheers Pete!
8. This is a bargain with the lower gain valves - I love mine but it does indeed go to super high gain immediately, so I'm tempted to try swapping too! Have a bump and GLWTS.
9.
The 'Fender Original' that they list has sometimes been called the '62 Re-issue' model. They are the vintage tone P pups I have always bought. BAX have them at £61 https://www.bax-shop...-design-pickups
+1, I used these on a 79 P and a Classic 50s P, fantastic results. Seemed to capture a fuller range than the stock pups they replaced.

Slap

Being a blinkered metal fan of the 80s I loathed slap - until I saw this. http://youtu.be/3WTF42N8dAw I can blag a passable version of it, but really need to give time to the terrific Scott Devine tutorials (especially 'Hair'!)
11. Hi Keith - what was the setup at the venue, was it floor or hollow stage? I've noticed a big difference between 2x112s at home and on a stage...also (maybe my hearing) but competing with the other 6 in our band, I've been unhappy with the stage sound, but have been told it was loud, clear and sizzling out front. Maybe try cutting the bass and increasing high mids and treble when your at battle volume, or DIing to PA and just have high mids/highs through the PA and staying flat for your stage setup. Cheers from another '71! Kev
12. Good to have you aboard mate. Heard good things about Maine!
13. I loved my old GP7SM 130 combo, especially when paired with a TE 2x10. I once went for a practice in the garage, only to find one of my cats stuck to the cab's carpet from clawing it! They hadn't accounted for that frequency on the EQ, I can tell you
