  2. Dear Basschat, I have a problem. I am so happy with all my basses and amps etc that I no longer feel the need to come here and look at things endlessly. How long will this feeling last?

Until "I am so happy with all my basses" = "I am so happy with all basses", there's plenty of scope for GAS :)

Ideal for playing on four Fenders, friend!

  6. Hi all, I’m new to Basschat and looking forward to it!

  7. Bought a Hellborg amp off one of you in a dream last night... who was it? can we talk in real life?

Luke, if you go to 'dream Basschat' tonight you can check who you bought it off in the 'dream feedback' forum

  9. What would be a good preamp/modeller/driver/DI to go straight into a PA?  Before everyone starts naming bespoke, top of the range items, please bear in mind that the budget is low.  When I say low, I mean that I was looking at a Behringer BDI21, low.

@Big Rich if you can get to the Tech Desk safely, they may have some spare DIs - if I forget mine I just plug into the Radial Pro DI on stage, leave my tone fully open so they can EQ it for the PA, works a charm.

  11. Was out for a cycle in the sunshine and there was a band jamming out in the park. The first live music I've seen in over a year, was a properly happy moment!

Cycling and live music - or 'bike and bass' - my two loves! Fantastic :)

  12. Hidden gems on BBC Sounds #1: 'J Kingston Platt', a series of monologues by the brilliant Peter Jones. Gently hilarious.

Thanks for the tip! Was just reading up on him, I only new him as the voice of the Hitchiker's Guide. 'In all directions' sounds very promising too!

It's easy when you're a prison band. Now if you'll excuse me, Spider Murphy apparently has a breakout planned with the Purple Gang...

Well played Alex, and good you see you dressed the part for it! I've been listening to 'On land and in the sea' pretty much non-stop for the last two weeks, so many time changes in each song - what a tight band.

  22. Guitarguitar have the Keeley Bassist on offer for £149, and the almost-identical and totally usable with bass GC-2 for £99. I know at least half of my posts are me banging on about how great the Bassist is, but... it really is very good! 😊

    1. Kevsy71

      Kevsy71

+1, that's a great price for either! Have the Bassist myself and it's an excellent comp/limiter.
