1.
Nice kit that. I've got a Marshall JCM 2000, which is a lovely versatile thing, and this Warmoth creation I put together (pic was taken before the SD Invader went in):
Dude thats just amazing!
 2. Hey guys. I may be tempted to let my pedulla fretted go. I realise that i much prefer the 19mm string spacing of the fretless. 17.5 is a little too close for me it seems! Plus i am after something with humbuckers as i dont particularly like P-J pupped basses. It is worn but not abused. The setup is amazing, the action is very low and comes with the original hardcase. 9 Volt Bartolini NMTB Electronics which are about a year old after being replaced by Micheal himself at Pedulla USA along with a nice setup and maintenece. Unlike the newer Pedulli' this one has a Brass nut and an ABM bridge instead of a Schaller. This is a lovely bass no doubt about it! If i dont trade out by January i'll keep her and start modifying it! Straight trade for a Graphite necks Stingray. I am also interested in 4 and 5 string Musicman Stingrays and cash my way. BTW the fretless is not going anywhere I fully intend to buy another Fretted Pedulla next year but with wider string spacing. Rob.
 3.
I can attest that moving the strap button to the neck heel does work quite well. Now I'm getting back into bass I quite miss the old "mission control" mocking bird that passed through the hands of a few of us here! I dont miss my old banana necked NJ one quite as much...
Join the club! I am first in line for it if Oli lets go!
 4. You have so many amazing basses that i would love! But why are they all 35" scale? Havent you got any 5vers at 34"? Good luck with the sale mate.
 5. Mockingbird are by far the worst basses i have owned for neck dive ( I have owned 2 myself) If its a bolt on, reposition the button onto the neck plate and get a very grippy strap and ultra light tuners. But honestly it will never be as good a balance as a traditionally shaped bass.
 6. If you want to be really popular i would go with some Chic - Sister Sledge covers. Everyone has heard at least a few of those songs.
 7.
That's a sweet looking jazz but I need more!!! I first discovered this colour when walking past Electric Lady Land in Bristol and there were matching p-bass and tele in this colour in the window, they grabbed my attention straight away and I've loved it ever since.
Steve still has the P! He has two of them in fact, a Rosewood boarded Fretted one, and a maple board fretless. They are upstairs at the moment.
 8.
Port plugs! None in equals standard tuning, one plug in equals lower tuning, two plugs in equals lowest tuning. I have the foam for these now so they'll be going out shortly to all previous Vintage purchasers. 75% of the time I'd expect standard tuning to be best, 20% of the time lower tuning, 5% of the time lowest tuning. The lower the tuning the less bottom the cab has, so the lowest tuning would be for small indoor gigs with big subs or if your amp is naturally very boomy. Alex
I'll take 5 ports then ;-) Cant wait to receive mine now!
 9. Wouldnt mind a set of flatwounds
 10. Bought a bass since September 9th! Doing pretty well i think! Yeah i am having withdrawel symptoms and i bought a Amp and cab during that time. But its still not a bass! Maybe i should sell one of the Pedullas and by something with uphold my image! What was the longest time any of you lot went without buying a bass?
 11. I have no problems with my Pedullas being included, but would rather not have any shots of my good looking self thanks.
 12.
Good lord, that was quick! Surely it's only a couple of weeks since you ordered it?
There was a vintage nearly ready anyway i think, Just needed the Tweeter installed and its various circuitry and the grill cover made.
 13.
There's a school of thought that says the worn ones are the good ones. There's another school of thought that says you shouldn't take a sander to your already slightly mojo'd bass. It could be the sweetetst Precision ever, it could be a dog, but the wear looks unusual to me?
I like it! I agree to the school of thought of worn ones being good ones, Especially when its happened to a custom shop bass Then again the fretless is probably the best fretless i have ever played.
 14.
Anybody tested Vintage with Tweeter yet?
Well considering theres only one in existence as far as i am aware, then either you'll have to wait for Alex's verdict when its finished/At the bass day in Brighton. Or when i receive it early next week
 15. M4L666 Bought my Ashdown LG1000, Great patient guy who understood about Royal Mails failings with strikes :S Glad you like it mate! Rob.
 16.
Blimey .. i had my fingers crossed that youd found the holy grail .... not a diy job i guess but im sure you can throw a different value pot in or add a resistor to tune your freq band a little ( no warranty worries anyway ) Maybe Dave Hall can advise ? SO close yet .. oh so far Agreed .. patching the raffle prize in front of the monolith isnt ideal oh and what cables / connectors are you using , they can be tone(Rob)bers . geddit ?? Or just buy another monster amp or 2 lol Gary v8
haha, Sorry gary. I like the idea of throwing a different value pot. But could take alot of work. Maybe a Outboard Graphic EQ is the answer. Any decent Rack mount EQs out there that i should be looking at? The cables are all custom made by a good friend of mine. They are the best of the best i can assure you of that! I would love to buy another amp as this ampegs got a great rock tone. Oli, The Vintage has not arrived yet, The issue is not with the cab, i want the amp to be able to do the trebley tone through ANY cab as apposed to just through tweeter equipped ones. The Hartke can do this, the ampeg cannot. Rob.
 17.
Is this the same size as a 4x12 ie a Marshall Super Bass head will fit width wise? if yes you may have a deal at last !!!!!!!!
Probably! How wide is the super bass head? I am sure it will fit on this. Rob.
 18.
Punk vs Metal...Punk wins In all seriousness, the Ampegs seem to be more warm and vintage like. Thats the ones I tried anyway. You might start to really like it! I used to love a really over the top bright sound, but Ive realised it sometimes stops it sounded bassy enough. I still occasionally do it mind. I reckon boost the mids. Most metal bands ive heard suck all the mids....all the time. If the guitars have mids decreased, have a little boost on your mids.
I usually do boost my mids all the time. Though i feel i am covering up the guitars far too much. Hence why i go for extreme treble instead.
 19.
just use the pedal as a pedal infront of the amp, surely?
Seems a shame to use a £89 pre-amp pedal into a Ampeg really! Honestly, i dont like using pedals. I was wondering if there is anything i could do settingswise on the Ampeg or if it can be modified internally to have a variable bright knob. I could possibly get a Graphic EQ put into my rack, But the holes dont line up correctly and the amp which is 2U only fits bang into the centre of my 3U rack unit. So not enough space either side for anything else! Rob.
 20. Hey guys. Just got sorted on a new rig. Which includes an Ampeg SVT 5 Pro head. It has a seperate overdrive channel, that i can combine with the clean channel to create some pretty cool sounds. Problem is, i prefer the grindy sound of the Hartke Bass attack pedal i won in the SE BB raffle over the Ampegs overdrive channel. The Attack pedal has a "brite" knob, which makes all the difference which gives me lots of nasty high end snap (Extreme levels that can cut through death metal out loud volumes. The Ampeg cannnot do this on its own, lacking a brite knob and the Hi-Treble switch does not provide enough. Is this normal? Is there an amp that can produce that kind of Brightness? Should i just stick out with the ampeg and plug the Hartke into it as a pre-amp? Is there a way of modifying the ampeg to provide this high end snap? ( I would rather keep the controls within the amp as apposed to on the bass onboard pre-amp) Otherwise the ampeg is a lovely amp, provides bags of Mid range and sounds as an ampeg should. I just think its a shame i need to plug in the Hartke pedal to provide the sound i need to cut through in the (ridiculous) metal band. Cheers guys! Rob.
 21. My Marshall 1x18 (That i also have for sale for not alot of £££. Is pretty low end. Not a huge amount of treble. Very good for old school rock i find as apposed to Dub.
 22. Honestly after my experience? Nice enough to look at, but i discovered that the fretless had misaligned pickups and the neck pocket was really bad on it. Lovely sounds though! I wouldnt get it again.
 23. Damn, no money and i dont think i could let go of my Pedulla fretless to buy this.
