1. I'm getting less than 8 hours per battery, and yes, I'm unplugging the lead inbetween times. Sounds like it needs the mod? (not the Moderator, who although very good, would perhaps not regard repairs as part of his duties?)
2. Having just played the Worlds End to a packed house tonight you may be interested to know Simon is away in the States at the moment and back on Thursday. Oh, and BTW its "e" before "i" Keith
3. "It must be due to the extra 4" I have........come on everyone, do I have to hawk it around Bass Day? " Could I clarify, in case anyone is alarmed, I mean the T Shirt!
4. For anyone in Knaresborough tonight, Idle Hands are at the Worlds End, and on Sunday, starting around 7.15 we are at The Suburban Style Bar, Bingley. New singer Amy will be debuting on home turf................... http://www.myspace.com/idlehandstrio
5. "I'm 6ft and eighteen stone and my xl fits perfect, but I don't need another one." It must be due to the extra 4" I have........come on everyone, do I have to hawk it around Bass Day?
6. Could be worth speaking to guitarguitar as youappear to have connected it up correctly (I assume you have checked the speakon cable works). Just a thought , on Markbass the speakon also takes jack plugs, have you tried jacks into the middle of the speakons? Just another thought from the photos, have the speakons turned and "clicked in"?
7. Let's not get into "my stomach's bigger than yours", there was enough of that yesterday in the Speeding thread......!
8. I have just obtained this Jazz Bass neck as per photos, with the intention of bringing it back to it's previous glory. It has a nicely mojoed headstock.... It has obviously had the frets pulled out, with some damage to the board higher up (I've tried to photograph the chip at Fret 13) however it looks straight and the truss rod works. The serial number and heel date as " Dec 04 1980". Sorry the photos are crap, I'll do some more in the day light tomorrow, s/n is E 90954 Before I start work and spend time and money on it I thought I would offer it for sale on here, as is. I have no idea of it's worth "bare" so reserve the right to withdraw it if offers do not exceed what I paid for it. If anyone is interested, realistic Offers please?
9. Well it's all in the title, ordered a shirt from Ped, it doesn't fit (I could see that without even trying on) so with his blessing I'm selling it on First PM gets the shirt............
10. I go to a Jam night with the intention of playing new material, trouble is those who attend do the same old rubbish each time, mind one week we did some Zappa! Impressed you played with the flu mind.....
11. Just bought a white gel pen today, hopefully bright and long-lasting enough to gig with the dots therein made....
12. You can get some dots you stick on yourself and then shine a special pen at them for a couple of minutes which gives 2 hours of glow..... so no modifications to your Bass.
13.
I don't think it's fair. I just found out Halifax are charging £1 a day for agreed overdrafts, be they 50p or £500. That's a bit unfair too IMO! It's all about squeezing the little people....
That's to pay for all the gymnasts in suits delivering £5 notes to their customers with the current account. Why don't they use the lift like the rest of us?
14. I'll do the Bay Trees in their pots ( from the first photo) for £150 each ( sorry for the hi-jack/bump)!
15. Then I think you had better investigate a weekend return for March/April...! However we're (Idle Hands) playing in Whitley, Doncaster on November the 1st around 5.00 pm if you're interested in popping by?
16. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/3-4-folding-electric...=item3a533de8db Just stumbled across this site, apologies if it has been posted before. They have a number of EDB's, this is the cheapest without a scroll to the headstock. I love the big brass hinge in the middle too! (Maybe this should be moved to the Ebay thread but I thought it could sit in this area)
17. When I saw the thread title I thought someone had eventually twigged I sold Winning Raffle tickets to ringers so I could have all the prizes for myself........ Anyway, it has been mooted for early Spring next year and is dependant on the availability of some special guests....!
18. Our first gig with Amy the new singer and Stagg, my new EDB.
19. I got a very late invitation to this gig, and rolled up without knowing what to expect. What a great line up, all excellent musos, both sets seemed to be over in minutes they were so enjoyable. As you'd expect, my eyes were fixed on Dave Bowie all night ( in a good way!) I think they are in Louth tonight
20. I've had an Alfa for 6 years: if you look after them they are fine, it has never let me down. If you look under the bonnet once a year don't buy one, there are plenty of identical euroboxes out there for the masses.... Nice Bass too!
21. If you use the wet and dry route make sure you have a flat block behind the paper, if you use your finger you could rub a slight groove. I've also used cutting paste (such as T cut) on a foam pad driven by a cordless drill to remove scratches.
