  1. Vintage Bass, owner 'Victoria"? Queen I reckon.....
  2. Had to laugh at S.B.&Q, they're never going to get top billing with a name that long- Photo of poster below from my kitchen
  3. Nordstrand Acinonyx in fetching Surf Green with parchment pickguard and Nordstrand Mute.
  4. What are these chord things you mention, my Bass has just 4 strings.
  5. Maybe to rationalise their speaker cabinet sizes as you can now get the 2X10 in a smaller cab, the same size as the 12" cab? Notice they've also gone to ceramic speakers with the weight saving now in the cabs.
  6. I had the pleasure of being invited to see Gretschen Peters and KIm Richey at the Tivoli Theatre in nearby Wimborne on Friday night by Mickeyboro of this parish. Excellent sets from both artists ( and band) and a great opportunity to have a chinwag with another BChatter ( not during the sets obvs!).
  7. The reason Fender do not make the top horn shorter is so the Bass balances better, so why make it shorter and then have to have that horrible extension thing sticking out...? Custom Smuchtom...
  8. I usually just put mine though the washing machine on the delicates setting....
  9. Most 4 string Banjos are in C and 5 strings in G, don't ask me how I know....
  10. I wasn't going to comment any further on this topic but as it has been revived again (like a knackered horse) I'll add my postscript to the saga. As I mentioned some time ago there was a 5 issues for £5 offer which I took up. Within my last issue of the 5 was the news the magazine was going online so I rang them up and said I did not want to automatically be subscribed for 1 year as that was the condition of the 5 for £5 unless you cancelled at the end of 5 copies. Also my sub money was not taken till the end of the sub on August 8th. The next day I got a refund of £1.25 and then a week later got an email saying I was due £6.25 back. Upon questioning it I was told I would be getting £5.00 back despite me saying the £5 was for my 5 copies which I had received. So I've received 5 free copies and a further £1.25 for my trouble...madness!
  11. Yin and Yang perhaps, although I don't know if he sells Foderas...
  12. Always wise to follow up any transaction with a phone call. Yes, you would expect in this day and age not need to, but as others have said, this is a recurring theme at BD and it happened to me a couple of years ago.
  13. Bit weird to play with your back to the audience, is it Modern Jazz?
  14. I thought he seemed a bit wooden when I spoke to him last year......
  15. Best sent by boat I reckon....
  16. Confused now, was it your valve amp that had dry joints because that is 1 million times more likely than both basses having them due to the heat?
  17. This would seem an ideal time for the Editor of Bass Player to post (he and some of their writers are members😉) and clear up the confusion and perhaps map the new path the publication is taking into the virtual world?
  18. By the sound of it you'll get the final Subscribers edition which is next month and then a refund for the rest. Or you could ring them up?
