  1. Whatever you choose MAKE SURE you save your back if its telling you to. I didn't (work not bass related) and my back went, and it was literally 4 years of not being able to properly move, bend or walk for longer than 10 minutes. The irony is is that the damage had been done, but I didn't know, then one day I lifted a light box and BANG the back went. Oh and you become really grumpy if you have a bad back - it just seems to affect all your body. I've gone the following: Quilter 800 - awesome and 2kg. Trace Elf - even smaller and lighter - great. Line 6 helix. Laney nexus cabs - 23kg for a 4x10. 19kg for a 2x10. And now, an active bass, as well as a passive precision v4, giving me all the tone I need. I could take any combination of those to a gig - even just the active bass and elf and 2x10 and be very happy with the tone. And when i get home, I'm still full of life, not bent over in pain.
  2. Ebay must be rattling everybody with this. I wanted to buy a bass today from a retailer who also have shops. I asked if I could pick up from shop or warehouse as both are literally 500 yards away. I didn't want it posting (or to wait). However, it was obvious that they were very worried Ebay would see this as an attempt to try and meet up (which it wasnt) and said they could get suspended.
  3. Sold elsewhere.
  4. Hi all, I've just got an active bass after 25 years of playing passive, and ... well...... wow! Flipping eck, it's amazing! All those sounds at the turn of a dial. Love it! However, just a few daft active questions... 1. My bass G&L m2000 is active only. There is no active passive switch. So how do you switch this off? Is it just unplug the cable to the bass? Is there any way to fit an active / passive switch, or is it pointless. (Just paranoid about it cutting out mid gig). 2. How long does a battery (albeit this takes 2 9v batteries) last for on average? 3. How do you know when your batteries are going? Do the just go and the bass goes dead, or is there an element of obvious signs? Cheers.
  5. Great stuff. Thanks. I've just picked up a g&l m2000 as everyone seems to like g&l. It looks and sounds awesome so far! May well get a l1000 in the near future now as well.
  6. Good point! Pics now added.
  7. I love this bass. suoer lightweight and comfortable. looks great in a road worn way. the pickups are superb on this. Really vintage. Check out videos on youtube. This has just had a set up and had an upgraded jack fitted, so its good for years to come. Also fully fitted shielding tape in all the cavities and under the scratchplate, so theres no danger of any earth hum etc. These are ridiculous value at full price - around £300 - so at half of that its a steal. Im only selling as i cant get a tortoise shell platefor it (this one is standard off white) for love nor money, so ive bought a different bass - prob sounds daft, but I'm in a tribute so have to have certain basses and colours. Will chuck a strap in as well for good luck. Whilst I remember, the only other thing is I'm going to swap it's current strings for a new set from my newly acquired g&l so there's probably £20 of new strings on it too! Pick up Leyland Lancashire.
  8. Hi all, As above, does anyone have any experience on the g&l lb100 basses? They look great value.
  9. X2 stagg power supplies for pedals etc as shown below. Don't think I've ever used them, just had them racked. £15 delivered.
  10. As soon as you send any contact details to each other before buying, phone, address etc its robots will automatically pick it up and flag it.
  11. I just wouldn't have any clue how to I'm afraid. Its dimensions pretty much rule it out, and packing would be a nightmare.
  12. As seen below. Great condition. Super mixer. £35 pick up or £40 delivered.
  13. My take on it is.... 1. They must have written procedures to follow. Written by themselves. These are there to ensure the job gets done correctly. 2. They clearly haven't followed their own written procedures. AND they have admitted this. Therefore they are responsible not just for loss, but for being negligent and not abiding by their own procedures. 3. They're offering the standard cheapo payout because that's just what they do. It doesn't make them right.
  14. Only used twice. I just can't get on with in ears. Excellent Behringer P2 personal amp, and superb ZS10 headphones, plus ear buds. This seems to be the basschat intro into in ears, so grab a bargain. £35 delivered.
  15. Cheers all. I'll have a look through those. So many options to go through!
  16. Very little use. Allows you to plug in 6 plug sockets via 1 plug. Surge protection. Really helps tidy up any rack case system. I fitted this in the top of my rack case and had to slightly bend the corner for a perfect fit. Great bit of gear. £35 delivered.
  17. Hi all, Its along long time since I bought separate parts to build a bitsa. What are the main websites to buy a natural p bass body and fitting neck from nowadays? I already have the other parts covered.
  18. Will take £375. The only cab you'll ever need.
  19. Hi all, im loving the Helix stomp - it really is awesome. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas or custom tones for creating a fretless patch?
  20. Now sold elsewhere.
  21. Another thing to consider, the v4 icon has a smooth neck, and the v4 standard that I have is a varnished neck. The pickups on the icon are really quite awesome. The standard pickups are really good too. Just remember that the 2 pots are not necessarily one for volume and one for tone. They definitely seem to have an impact on each other. You can whack the volume up, then add more by opening the tone up and it gets louder. Weird. Love my v4s. Strung with rotosound flats it's great for little money.
  22. Still available. I need the room now, as I've bought a new rig unexpectedly, so need the space. A 32kg 6x10 from markbass with wheels, switchable tweeter, and enough power on tap to fill anywhere with only a few hundred watts.
  23. That's utter balls. DONT accept it. By accepting you will bring the matter to an end. They took money to provide a service. They didn't provide the service. The reason they didn't was their fault and they volunteered that information. No way on earth do they have any legal right to do that.
  24. I have a rm212t that is up for sale, that I'm letting go for next to nothing. Will accept £80. I'm near Chorley/ preston.
